Learning from Finland’s Child-Centred Early Education 🇮🇳🤝🇫🇮
The State Best Teachers of Andhra Pradesh continued their enriching Finland study visit with Day four, exploring Finland’s child-centred approach to pre-primary education. Visiting two Finnish pre-primary education centres, the teachers observed how emotional well-being, individual developmental needs and joyful learning are thoughtfully integrated into children’s everyday experiences. The visit offered valuable insights into dedicated spaces for play, music, dance, rest, creative activities and toilet training, along with age appropriate learning environments and resources. Teachers interacted with children and engaged with teachers, management, caregivers and support staff to understand daily routines, care practices and the support systems that nurture young learners. From infrastructure and learning resources to inclusive care and developmentally appropriate practices, the visit provided practical perspectives on creating safe, stimulating and joyful learning spaces for children. The experience brought valuable global practices closer to the classrooms and early childhood settings of Andhra Pradesh. 🇮🇳🤝🇫🇮
