The Department of Siddhant Darshan celebrated New Year 2026 in a warm and positive academic spirit with faculty members, scholars, and students.

Dr. Hirdesh Kumari, PhD alumna of the Department of Siddhant Darshan, visited the department on 20 December 2025. She completed her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Chandra Shekhar Pandey through the AYUSH Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme —a fellowship programme of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, implemented through Research Councils (CCRAS).

Currently, she is serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Samhita, Sanskrit and Siddhant at Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Chandigarh. On this occasion, she was warmly felicitated, symbolizing the department’s strong academic legacy, vibrant alumni network, and continued contribution to Ayurveda education and research.

✨ Academic Participation ✨

Prof. Chandra Shekhar Pandey, Department of Siddhant Darshan, Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, BHU, had the honour of serving as Chair at “Shalya Samagam – 2025”, held on 25–26 December 2025 at Chandra Shekhar Singh Ayurvedic Sansthan, Kaushambi (Prayagraj).

The programme centered on Sushruta’s foundational concepts of Shalya (Surgery) and Sangyaharan (Anaesthesia) and offered a vibrant platform for scholarly deliberation, academic exchange, and interdisciplinary dialogue in

🌸 unveling of statue of Madan mohan malviya ji Observed at the Department of Siddhant Darshan 🌸

On 24 December 2025, the Department of Siddhant Darshan, Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, BHU, solemnly observed pre Malviya Jayanti with the unveiling of the statue of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya Ji. The event was conducted in a spirit of reverence, tradition, and academic dignity.

The Pujan and ceremonial worship were performed by the Head of the Department, Prof. Rani Singh, along with the Dean, Prof. P. K. Goswami. The auspicious rituals were carried out by Prof. C. S. Pandey, in accordance with traditional practices.

The programme was graced by the presence of Prof. H. H. Awasthi, Prof. K. N. Singh, Prof. Vijay Laxmi, Dr. Shashirekha (H.K.), Dr. Ashutosh Pathak, and Dr. Devanand Upadhyay. The event also witnessed active participation from Senior Residents, Junior Residents, PhD research scholars, and non-teaching staff of the department.

The occasion served as a respectful tribute to Mahamana Ji’s enduring legacy of education, values, and nation-building, reaffirming the department’s commitment to his timeless ideals.

The Department of Siddhant Darshan, Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, Banaras Hindu University, extends warm congratulations to Dr. Richa Saxena on the successful submission of her Ph.D. thesis titled:

“An Observational Study of Svitra Roga on the Basis of Viruddhahara”

Dr. Saxena completed her doctoral research under the able supervision of Prof. Rani Singh, Professor & Head, Department of Siddhant Darshan, with co-supervision by Prof. Tulika Rai (Department of Dermatology & Venereology, IMS, BHU) and Dr. Vijay Kumar Shrivastava (Department of Panchakarma, Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, BHU).

This work represents a significant scholarly contribution through interdisciplinary integration of Ayurveda Samhita–Siddhant and modern clinical perspectives.
