Ashok Kumar Mehta, maker of these flutes, comes from a long line of musicians who live in the classical music capital of India--Varanasi. He learned to play flute from his father and grandfather, beginning at age 8. He also learned from Varanasi Bansuri great, Rajendra Passanna.
