The programme at “The Growing Years” aims at a holistic development of a child and executing appropriate teaching learning strategies, techniques, activities, keeping in mind characteristcs of children. Learning through play, hands-on-work are the terms widely used in education and psychology. Activities such as drawing, music, dance, art, helps children mature emotionally, gain self-confidence and gives them opportunity for
self-expression and to explore the world around them while promoting their overall development. Our Programme offers:

• G.k. thru Art activities
• Subject guidance in Maths/English/Environmental Studies from Grade-I onwards…. The time when a child transforms from being a non-reader to a reader could be a tough transition, but is very rewarding. Children who learn to read well are better learners throughout their school years. Hence, we designed a special reading program “Joy of Reading” which aims to help and encourage children to read. The goal of “Joy of Reading Program” is to enhance and develop child’s reading skills and thus, transform a non reader into a fluent reader. Phonics is an essential part of learning how to read. Knowledge of phonics helps children to read many words that follow phonic rules. Phonic skills must be put into connected print in order to become useful. Connected print is short selections in books, story books or magazines. It is very important to make the transition from the pre-school years to the early primary grades, very smooth and easy going. We at “The Growing Years” provide immense opportunity and support to children in their further development in terms of self reliance, independence, self expression, language, motivation and reinforcement of academic achievement- thus making the transition very smooth and easy for them. Deval Shah the owner of “The Growing Years” hold a Master's Degree in Developmental and Counseling Psychology(Child Psychology). I also hold a degree in Early Childhood Care and Education(ECCE) from, Home Science. My intensive training as a Research Associate and Documentation Officer in
Early Child Development Learning Resource Centre(ECD-LRC), Home Science, supported by UNICEF and NCERT, gave me a deeper insight in the field of Child Development, needs and characteristics of children and designing a “Developmentally Appropriate Program” for holistic developmentof children. Extensive experience of working as a Tutor in some of the esteemed schools and intensive training during my course of studies, have all united to give me inspiration to come up with my own programme – thus laying the foundation of “The Growing Years” since 2009.
