โœจGratitude Postโœจ

Delivering fun-filled remote classes was an absolute joy, and I must sayโ€”these students are some of the most curious, hardworking, and enthusiastic learners Iโ€™ve ever met!

During the winter of 2023, I had the opportunity to teach the bright and talented students from Arunachal Pradesh through the Gurushala Initiative! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

Their energy and eagerness to learn made every session special. ๐Ÿ’กโค๏ธ

A huge shoutout to Gurushala for making this possible and bridging the gap in education with technology and passion.

Hereโ€™s to more such meaningful teaching experiences! ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ“–

๐Ÿ“ข Watch Your Word Order! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

Word order mattersโ€”a LOT! Changing it can turn a
simple sentence into total confusionโ€ฆ or comedy gold!
๐Ÿคญ

For example:
๐Ÿ”น "Letโ€™s eat, Grandma!" (Dinner time! ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ)
๐Ÿ”น "Letโ€™s eat Grandma!" (Waitโ€ฆ WHAT?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ)

Or this classic:
๐Ÿ”น "I love cooking my family and my pets."
๐Ÿ”น "I love cooking, my family, and my pets."
(Punctuation saves lives too! ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Always double-check before you post, text, or speak.
Unless, of course, you want to cause chaos! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Why Literal Translation Doesnโ€™t Work! ๐Ÿšซ๐ŸŒ

Literal translation can cause blunders because languages have different grammar & contexts can change the whole meanings.

๐Ÿ˜ญA word-to-word translation often misses the actual message which causes communication breakdown and embarassing situations.

โ˜น Loss of confidence, Lack of better employment opportunities are the result of such errors. A word-for-word translation can lead to confusion, awkward grammar, and even hilarious mistakes! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Here are some common Indian examples.

โŒ "Did snake smell you" when soembody goes silent suddenly.
โŒ "He is eating my brain" - When someone is bothering you.
โŒ "Itโ€™s raining cats and dogs" does not mean that animals are falling from the sky! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฑ
