Who are We

We at Breaking Barriers are psychological counselors who are trained in the art of listening and have skills to help you explore your concerns, make sense of complex issues and clear the web of confusion to regain objectivity. Having someone to talk to who is not directly involved in your particular circumstances can make a real difference. Psychological counselors work with individual

s, couples and groups (such as families). All counseling work is, of course, completely confidential. Irrespective of sex, age, social strata the feeling of pain is the same across humanity.

Sometimes, we wait for someone to say they need help before we reach out.

But people don’t always know how to ask for help, or feel comfortable enough to.

A change in behaviour. A withdrawal from people. A comment that stays with you. Sometimes, the signs are subtle.

You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly what someone is going through to check in. You just have to be willing to start the conversation.

And if you’re the one struggling, you don’t have to explain everything perfectly to deserve support.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, let’s make difficult conversations a little less difficult to begin. 🤍

If you or someone you know may be in immediate danger, please seek urgent professional or emergency support.

Sometimes, it isn’t the person you’re holding on to.
It’s the uncertainty around what happened, what could have happened, or how things were supposed to end.

And when there’s no clear ending, the mind can keep trying to create one.

Maybe that’s why some things take longer to move on from than we expect.

Which one felt a little too familiar? 👀

Some thoughts don’t leave because they matter...they stay because they were never truly processed.

There are moments, conversations, and emotions that quietly remain in the background of our minds. Sometimes what feels like “missing someone” is
actually your mind searching for understanding, acceptance, or peace.

Healing begins when we allow ourselves to explore those unresolved feelings instead of carrying them silently. 💙

If something has been weighing on you, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Nobody falls out of love in a single day. More often, love gets buried beneath everything you're trying to hold together; the bills, the deadlines, the responsibilities, and the future.

If you've been feeling a little distant lately, it doesn't always mean something is broken. Sometimes, it simply means life has become louder than your relationship.

If this feels like your story, take it as a gentle reminder to pause, make space for each other, and reconnect. Sometimes, the smallest conversation can be the first step back to us.

Reach out to us on +65 9297 9684 for a quick chat. Or book a free 20-min call through breakingbarriers.sg (Link in Bio).

Having lost a loved one to su***de. The grief, the questions, the guilt and moments that will never be complete feel so heavy! I share this not just as my truth, but to raise awareness. By talking about it, we can break the stigma. By listening, we can create spaces where others don’t have to feel so alone in their pain.

Behind every thought of su***de is a deep struggle with despair, loneliness or feeling like a burden. What people truly long for is not death, but relief and hope. Let’s break the silence. Let’s make it safe to say, “I’m not okay.”
Let’s raise awareness that promotes care and compassion, not judgment !

Ever feel like you and your partner are speaking different languages? It’s not about what you say, but whether you are truly heard. When you are heard, you are understood, and that’s where your healing begins.

What feels like overreaction in adulthood…
is often a perfectly reasonable reaction from a child still living in your nervous system.

Abandonment doesn’t always come from neglect.
Sometimes, it’s emotional absence, inconsistent love, or simply not being seen.

But healing is possible, when your body finally feels what it missed:
Safety. Consistency. Connection.
