We need to look at the data in totality. Country rotation can happen in jiffy where there is opportunities to grow their capital.

Till March 22 , SNP500 was up 6% and nifty was down 3%

Now US is down 19% and India is down 6% for past 1 year. Majority of this outperformance happens in last 5 to 6 months

Time for reversal ? 🙂

Positive developments in US and China.. senate elections and China premier elections can impact outperforming markets like India or Indonesia etc

In Growth oriented Instruments like DE Equity , Active Funds , Index Funds , Real Estate , own business.. you cannot compare past performances and come to conclusion..This is quite a childish approch.

As these are non linear and forward looking instruments with lot of variables including your own efforts , Skills , environment etc

What has happened is past and results were based on the variable factors during that time

So we need to actively track the current variables and accordingly evaluate it on regular basis and be nimble footed for the surprises.

As I always say that Stock Market is not a true reflection of the Economy..nothing validates that more than a Sri Lanka stock market.

This is performance comparison of Nifty 50 since inception with All Share Price Index (ASPI) of Sri Lanka

In percentage terms ASPI has always Beaten Nifty since 1995 till Jan 2022 or before crises.

By looking at Sri Lankan stock market..it looks all goody goody and looks like a Economy which is growing etc.

In reality it was a Mirage..

So point is..having a close watch on Key Economic Indicators, NPA , Budget , geo political stuff is very important when investing in a country
