With a heart full of sorrow, I mourn the loss of my dearest guru, Vajira Chitrasena, the most extraordinary female Kandyan dancer Sri Lanka has ever known. She was more than a teacher—she was my guiding light, shaping not just my dance but my entire being. I grew up watching her every move, learning from her at Chitrasena Kalayathanaya, and striving to be the dancer she envisioned in me. Her passion, grace, and dedication to the arts were boundless. As she takes her final bow, the world feels emptier, and my heart aches with an irreplaceable loss. I can only hope her spirit now dances peacefully in the heavens, as gracefully as she did here on Earth.

Apsara ✨ - The divine dancers of Hindu and Buddhist mythology. Apsaras are often depicted as beautiful, supernatural women who entertain gods and kings with their graceful dance and music. They are considered to embody elegance, beauty, and artistic skills. In various texts and artworks, apsaras are also seen as symbols of heavenly bliss and divine joy.
