Mar Thoma College Thiruvalla Mar Thoma Church, one of the oldest Syrian Christian Churches founded by St.Thomas in India, entered the realm of higher education by establishing a College K.

Founded in 1952, Mar Thoma College is one of the six institutions of higher learning administered by the Mar Thoma Church. The Church ventured into the field of higher education out of the firm conviction that, it has a vital role to play in the task of moulding the lives of young men and women, who should prove themselves worthy before men and God and equipping them to meet the stern challenges o

f life. From a small beginning with 250 students and 12 teachers, the College has grown into a premier educational institution with 80 members on the teaching staff, 56 non-teaching staff and about 1500 students on the rolls today. The College, accredited by NAAC in 1998-the first college to do so in Kerala, attained the unique distinction of being the first re-accredited college in the Mahatma Gandhi University with A grade. The late Most. Rev. Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan, the late Rt.Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Athanasius, the late Most. Dr. Alexander MarThoma Metropolitan, the late Mr. Kuruvilla and many others have contributed in no small measure to the growth and development of this institution over the years.
