Problem 1:
A tree is standing vertically on the ground. From a point on the ground, which is 20 m away from the foot of the tree, the angle of elevation to the top of the tree is 45°. Find the height of the tree.

Problem 2:
A man 1.8 m tall is standing 10 m away from a building. The angle of elevation from his eyes to the top of the building is 60°. Calculate the height of the building.

Problem 3:
From a point on the ground, the angle of elevation to the top of a hill is 30°, and the angle of elevation to the bottom of the hill is 15°. If the point is 50 m away from the base of the hill, find the height of the hill.

Problem 4:
A ladder is leaning against a wall. The foot of the ladder is 4 m away from the wall, and the angle of elevation from the ground to the top of the ladder is 60°. If the ladder is 8 m long, find the height at which the ladder touches the wall.

Problem 5:
An observer is standing on a flat surface and sees the top of a mountain at an angle of elevation of 75°. If the observer is 100 m away from the base of the mountain, find the height of the mountain.

If the number of characters varies for each row, we can still make the MID formula dynamic by combining it with FIND, SEARCH, or LEN.

=MID(A1, FIND("-",A1)+1, FIND(":",A1)-FIND("-",A1)-1)

This extracts text dynamically between two markers (like “-” and “:”), even if the length changes for every row.
So instead of fixing the number of characters (like 3), we calculate it automatically using positions found by FIND.
