Srinagar, J&K: Sports Day 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit, showcasing the talent, energy and determination of young athletes across Jammu & Kashmir. The occasion highlighted the importance of sports in promoting fitness, discipline, teamwork, leadership and a healthy lifestyle among youth.

With profound grief and sorrow, we mourn the sad demise of Rtd. IAS Officer Ghazanfar Ali, former Director General, Youth Services & Sports, J&K.

A distinguished officer, visionary administrator, and a dedicated leader, his valuable contribution to the development of Youth and Sports in Jammu & Kashmir will always be remembered and cherished. His guidance, professionalism, and commitment inspired countless people associated with the sports fraternity.
