World Entrepreneurs Day Celebrated at DRIEMS University

DRIEMS University observed World Entrepreneurs Day on 21 August 2026 with the theme “Empowering Ideas. Inspiring Innovation. Building Tomorrow.”, organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC).

The programme was graced by Chief Guest Er. Mahabir Biswal, Managing Director, Odisha Beverage Ltd., who shared his valuable entrepreneurial journey and insights with the students. Through his engaging talk, he encouraged students to think innovatively, identify opportunities, embrace challenges and transform their ideas into impactful ventures.

The session provided students with meaningful exposure to the realities of entrepreneurship and the mindset required to turn innovative ideas into successful initiatives.

The event was attended by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Kumar Hota, Prof. (Dr.) Biswaranjan Mohanty, Dean – Research, and Dr. Deepak Ranjan Biswal, Convenor, Institution’s Innovation Council & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Gourab Kumar Panda and Mr. Pabitra Nayak, Assistant Professors and Event Coordinators, along with faculty members and students, were also present.

The celebration reflected DRIEMS University’s continued commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity and industry-oriented learning among its students.

AARABDH 2026 | Day 2 of the First-Year Induction Programme

The second day of Aarabdh 2026 at DRIEMS University featured a series of enriching sessions focused on quality education, entrepreneurship, skill development and career planning.

“Quality Education: A Road Map for Your New Journey in Higher Education”
Prof. (Dr.) Alok Ranjan Biswal, Director, IQAC, shared valuable insights on academic excellence, continuous learning and making the most of the university journey.

“From Vision to Venture”
Er. Mahabir Biswal, MD, Odisha Beverage & DRIEMS alumnus, shared his inspiring journey and encouraged students to transform their ideas and aspirations into meaningful ventures.

“Mapping Journey: 1st Year to 1st Job”
Mr. Ramakanta Kasta, Assistant Director, CDC, guided students on planning their academic journey, developing relevant skills and preparing for a successful transition from university to the professional world.

The sessions provided students with a valuable blend of academic guidance, entrepreneurial inspiration and career direction, helping them envision their future with greater clarity and confidence.

Glimpses from the Inaugural Ceremony of Aarabdh 2026

DRIEMS University, School of Engineering & Technology, warmly welcomed its new batch of students with the inaugural ceremony of “Aarabdh – Student Induction Programme 2026.”

The ceremony was graced by Dr. Nayan Rajan Samal, Dean, School of Engineering & Technology; Dr. Alok Ranjan Biswal, Associate Dean, School of Engineering & Technology & Director, IQAC; Dr. Anurekha Nayak, Chairperson, Academic Council Committee & HOD, Electrical Engineering; Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sahoo, Dean, School of Humanities & Social Sciences; Mr. Rashmi Ranjan Samal, Vice Chairman, Academic Council Committee & HOD, Department of Chemistry, along with other distinguished faculty members and all the HODs.

The HODs shared inspiring words and valuable guidance with the newly inducted students, making the occasion both meaningful and memorable.

Following the inaugural ceremony, the newly inducted students had an opportunity to visit different parts of the DRIEMS campus, helping them become familiar with the campus facilities, academic environment and vibrant student life.

MoU Signed Between Swabalambi Odisha and DRIEMS University

DRIEMS University has taken another significant step towards strengthening its entrepreneurship, innovation and startup ecosystem with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swabalambi Odisha on 19 August 2026 at O-Hub Startup Odisha Building, Chandaka Industrial Area, Bhubaneswar.

The collaboration aims to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, incubation and startup culture among students, researchers and faculty members through joint initiatives, capacity-building programmes, mentorship, innovation activities and other ecosystem-driven interventions.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by representatives from Swabalambi Odisha, including Mr. Sadashiba Mishra, Chairperson; CA Rajesh Kumar Pattanaik, Convenor & Treasurer; Mr. Jayant Kumar Das; and Ms. Sushree Subhralin Bharimal.

Representing DRIEMS University, the ceremony was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Kumar Hota, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. (Dr.) Ramakanta Panigrahi, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mrs. Chinmayee Rath, Director, Coordination; Er. Glimpses from the Closing Ceremony of Anti-Ragging Week 2026

DRIEMS University successfully concluded Anti-Ragging Week 2026 with a meaningful Closing Ceremony held at the Padmini Auditorium on 18th August 2026.

The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Sri Rajkishore Swain, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Retd.), along with Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Kumar Hota, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Ramakanta Panigrahi, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Sj. Balaram Kar, Director – Administration; Dr. Raghunath Sahu, Dean, School of Management; Prof. Lokanath Behera, Director – Student Relations; and Dr. Anurekha Nayak, Convenor, Anti-Ragging Committee.

The programme, anchored by Assistant Professor Dr. Gourab Kumar Panda, featured inspiring addresses, felicitation of the Chief Guest and distribution of certificates to students who actively participated in the Anti-Ragging Week activities.

The presence of Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members and students made the occasion truly meaningful, reinforcing our collective commitment towards a safe, respectful and ragging-free campus.
