Music Therapy: Part of the Indigenous Knowledge Systems & Ancient Healing
'Emergence of synthesis' where Art reached a new dimension through the healing experience. I guess we all, somehow, sometime, are confronted with this long-running debate whether ‘Art for Art’s Sake’ or ‘Art for People’; but never arriving at any conclusion and always keep searching for the ideal answer. But here is a dawn of hope, brought by KaviKrishna Telemedicine Care (KTC), in ending this debate by providing a new aspect of synthesis with their initiation of ‘Cancer care through Music Therapy’ for the cancer patients: ‘Art always serves people with its aesthetic power to heal’. The hope brought by KTC is not limited to an aesthetic social debate only; it is more than that. This is the hope for cancer patients, this is the hope for the community, and this is the hope for the poor brought by KaviKrishna Telemedicine Care for more than 30 years. Through every bit of harmony in the music, we can see the smile and energy of hope in the faces of the patients. We can realize the great value of music reached through the healing experiences of the patients. This is the actual application of Art, Care and medicine, the actual application of Medical Humanities, the actual application of ancient Kamrupi Healing Art.
