The Cluster University of Srinagar commemorated the 77th Republic Day of India with profound patriotic fervour and solemn reverence, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the ideals and values enshrined in the Constitution of India. The occasion was marked by an atmosphere of national pride, collective responsibility, and renewed dedication to the nation’s democratic ethos. The national flag was unfurled by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Mobin who also addressed the gathering.
Echoing the timeless spirit of Vande Mataram, the celebrations highlighted the University’s resolve to contribute meaningfully to the vision of a self-reliant and resilient India (Atmanirbhar Bharat) through excellence in education, research, innovation, and community engagement. The event served as a reminder of India’s rich constitutional legacy and the sacrifices of countless freedom fighters whose struggles laid the foundation of a sovereign, socialist, secular, and democratic republic.
Faculty members, students, scholars, and staff participated enthusiastically in the celebrations, reflecting on the core values of unity in diversity, social justice, equality, and national integrity. HVC Prof. Mobin underscored the pivotal role of institutions of higher learning in nurturing informed, responsible, and ethically grounded citizens who can contribute to nation-building in an ever-evolving global landscape.

Cluster University of Srinagar Secures Bronze Medals in Football and Table Tennis at 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy 2025–26
Srinagar, January 20, 2026 – Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) has achieved outstanding success at the 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy 2025–26, hosted by the University of Jammu, by winning bronze medals in both Football (Men) and Table Tennis (Men). Participating in four sporting events, the university’s teams displayed remarkable skill, resilience, and competitive spirit, earning podium finishes in two disciplines and bringing pride to the institution and the region.
The Football (Men) team delivered a memorable campaign marked by dominant performances and clutch moments under pressure. In the pre-quarterfinals, CUS registered a commanding 16–0 victory over Trikuta Group of Colleges, showcasing complete control and attacking prowess. They followed this with a disciplined 1–0 win against Kashmir University in the quarterfinals, where strong defensive organization and tactical ex*****on proved decisive. In the bronze medal match, the team faced Govt. College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, in a tightly contested encounter that went to penalties. Displaying nerves of steel, CUS emerged victorious in the shootout to secure the bronze medal, capping a journey that highlighted their determination and ability to perform in high-stakes situations.
In Table Tennis (Men), the CUS contingent demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the tournament. The team secured impressive victories over strong opponents, including MIET Jammu, GNDU Amritsar, and MZU Jodhpur, progressing steadily with superior technique, spin control, and footwork. In the bronze medal match against SMDVU Katra University, the squad delivered a comprehensive and dominant performance, winning convincingly to claim the medal and add to the university’s tally.
These bronze medal achievements reflect Cluster University of Srinagar’s strong commitment to promoting sports excellence and holistic student development. The successes are a testament to the rigorous training, teamwork, and support provided by the university’s sports department, coaches, and administration. Cluster University of Srinagar Football Team Reaches Semifinals of 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy at University of Jammu:
Jammu 17-01-2026: The Football Team of Cluster University of Srinagar has delivered an impressive performance by advancing to the semifinals of the 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy, being held at the University of Jammu.
During their journey to the semifinals, the team exhibited exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination. In the pre-quarterfinal match, Cluster University of Srinagar registered a commanding 16–0 victory against Trikuta Group of Colleges, demonstrating complete dominance throughout the match.
Subsequently, in the quarterfinal encounter, Cluster University of Srinagar faced Kashmir University in a closely contested match. Displaying strong defensive organization and tactical discipline, Cluster University secured a narrow 1–0 victory, sealing their place in the semifinals of the prestigious tournament.

CUS Weightlifter Mohammad Unzer Bhat Secures 3rd Position at National University Games
Srinagar,Dec-30-2025:
Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir as its student Mohammad Unzer Bhat secured third position in the 79 kg category at the National University Games in Men’s Weightlifting, held at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
In addition to the podium finish, Unzer Bhat has also emerged among the Top 16 weightlifters at the All-India level, marking a significant milestone in university sports and making him the only athlete from the Kashmir Division to achieve this distinction in the championship.
The achievement reflects the athlete’s consistent training, competitive discipline, and dedication, and highlights the growing presence of Cluster University of Srinagar in national-level sporting platforms.
The University has acknowledged the institutional support extended to the weightlifting contingent. The guidance provided by the Sports Section under Prof. (Dr.) G. M. Lone, Sports Secretary, the coordination by the Sports Committee led by Convener Dr. Sheikh Burhan ul Haque, and the on-ground support by Dr. Jameel Ahmad Qurashi, Assistant Professor and Manager and Coach of the Weightlifting Team, contributed to the effective participation of the team at the championship.

Cluster University Srinagar NSS Volunteer Selected for Republic Day Parade 2026 at New Delhi
Srinagar, December 18:
Cluster University Srinagar has achieved a moment of great pride and National recognition as one of the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, Wasil Ayub enrolled in Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Safapora, has been selected to participate in the Republic Day Parade–2026 at New Delhi, to be held in the August presence of the Hon’ble President of India.
This prestigious achievement reflects the University’s sustained commitment to youth development, nation-building and extension activities under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mobin. Under his dynamic stewardship, the University has been making remarkable strides in academics, outreach programmes and student engagement, earning national-level recognition through initiatives such as the National Service Scheme.
The selection of Mr. Wasil Ayub is particularly noteworthy, as only four NSS volunteers from the entire Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir have been selected for this prestigious national event—two from Jammu, one from SKUAST Kashmir and one from Cluster University Srinagar—underscoring the significance of this accomplishment.
Principal, GCET Safapora, Prof. Rauf Ahmad Khan, along with the faculty, staff and the NSS fraternity, congratulated Mr. Wasil Ayub for his dedication, discipline and unwavering commitment to national service. They lauded his achievement for bringing laurels to the institution and the University.

Cluster University of Srinagar Flags Off its Women Table Tennis Team to Participate in Inter-University North Zone National Table Tennis Tournament
Srinagar, December 16:
Cluster University of Srinagar today flagged off its Women’s Table Tennis team to participate in the Inter-University North Zone National Table Tennis Tournament scheduled to be held at Chitkara University, Rajpora Punjab.
The tournament is expected to witness participation of University teams representing various States and Union Territories across the country.
The flag-off ceremony was conducted by Prof. (Dr.) G.M. Lone, Sports Secretary, Cluster University of Srinagar, who extended his best wishes to the players and urged them to maintain discipline, dedication, and a competitive spirit during the tournament. He reiterated the University’s focus on encouraging women athletes and expressed hope that the team would deliver a commendable performance while representing the institution at the national level.
Dr. Sheikh Burhan-ul-Haque, Sports Coordinator, CUS, also interacted with the players and motivated them to remain focused, play as a cohesive unit, and uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship. He encouraged the students to make the most of the exposure by competing with utmost confidence against the University teams from across the North Zone.

Cluster University of Srinagar Flags Off Volleyball Team for North Zone Inter-University Tournament
Srinagar, Dec-07-2025:
Cluster University of Srinagar today flagged off its Volleyball team for participation in the North Zone Inter-University Volleyball Tournament to be held at Haryana organised by Central University Haryana, which will see the participation of 84 teams from various states and union territories across the country.
The flag-off ceremony was presided over by Professor (Dr.) G. M. Lone, Sports Secretary, Cluster University of Srinagar. He was accompanied by Dr. Sheikh Burhan-ul-Haque, Coordinator, Sports Committee, alongside other concerned officers of the University and the University volleyball team.
Addressing the players, Professor G. M. Lone encouraged the team to display discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship at the national platform. He expressed confidence that the University contingent would perform with excellence and bring laurels to the institution.
Dr. Burhan, Assistant Professor extended his best wishes to the team for the tournament and assured students of all support during the course of the tournament.
The Volleyball team of Cluster University of Srinagar will compete against the top volleyball teams of various Universities across the country in the prestigious national level event.

Cluster University of Srinagar Observes Constitution Day
Srinagar, November 26, 2025:
Cluster University of Srinagar (CUS) today commemorated Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) at its Gogji Bagh Campus with a solemn and insightful programme highlighting the values, vision, and enduring legacy of the Constitution of India.
The event was presided over by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammad Mobin, who underscored the significance of the Constitution as the guiding document of India’s democratic framework.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Prof. Nazir A Simnani, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Wilayat Hussain Rizvi, Registrar, Prof. Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Controller of Examinations, Prof. G. M. Lone, Dean Commerce and Management besides all officers and officials of the University were present during the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Registrar Prof.Wilayat Rizvi reflected on the visionary leadership of the framers of the Constitution. He highlighted the relevance of constitutional principles in contemporary society and encouraged all to cultivate a deeper understanding of their rights and duties as citizens. He emphasized the responsibility of academic institutions in nurturing constitutional values among students and future professionals.
Faculty members, staff from various departments attended the event. The ceremony included the reading of the Preamble by Dr Rutba Peerzada, Assistant Professor (Political Science).
