Bad Weather Forces Closure of All Schools in Reasi on July 22

Srinagar, July 21 (VSI): In response to the ongoing spell of adverse weather, authorities in Reasi have ordered the closure of all schools across the district for Tuesday, July 22, as a safety measure.

The directive, issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi, follows instructions from the Deputy Commissioner and applies to both government and private educational institutions.

“As a precautionary step in view of the prevailing inclement weather, all schools—government as well as private—shall remain closed on July 22,” the CEO’s order stated. A copy of the order lies with Valley Student Insights (VSI).

The move aims to ensure the safety of students and staff amid continuous rainfall and potential weather-related hazards.

School heads, zonal officers, and education authorities have been formally notified to implement the closure and spread awareness among students and parents. (VSI)

Kashmir University Declares Summer Break for Teaching Departments from July 17

Srinagar, July 10 (VSI): The University of Kashmir has officially announced a ten-day summer vacation for all its teaching departments, including those functioning at its satellite campuses.

As per a notification issued by the university administration, which lies with the Valley Student Insights (VSI), the summer break will commence from July 17 and will continue until July 26, 2025.

Despite the teaching break, the university clarified that departmental offices will remain operational. Heads, directors, and coordinators of the respective departments and campuses have been directed to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations and administrative tasks as per pre-set schedules. (VSI)
