Eid-ul-Adha, which is also known as Bakrid or Eid Qurban is one of the most important Muslim festivals across the world. This festival which is also coined as ‘feast of the sacrifice’, is observed on the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the twelfth month according to the Islamic calendar. Eid-ul-Adha is one of the two most prominent Islamic festivals celebrated around the globe, the first one being Eid-Al-Fitr, which is also known as Ramadan Eid.

TITANIUM GOLD ALLOY...

Scientists Created a Material That's 4x Stronger Than Titanium:

Researchers at Rice University have made an unexpected discovery that could significantly improve materials used in artificial joints.

Titanium, the standard material for these implants due to its strength and biocompatibility, may now be surpassed by a new titanium-gold alloy.

This alloy, made from a 3-to-1 ratio of titanium to gold, is four times harder than pure titanium, a quality attributed to its unique "beta" crystalline structure. Lead scientist Emilia Morosan and her team were surprised to find the material's remarkable properties after attempting to grind it during a previous study.

Their follow-up tests revealed that this titanium-3-gold alloy not only has superior hardness but also outperforms titanium in terms of biocompatibility and wear resistance, making it a promising candidate for medical implants.

This discovery matters because it offers a potential breakthrough in the durability and safety of artificial joints and other biomedical implants.

Current titanium implants, while effective, wear down over time, which can lead to complications. The enhanced hardness and wear resistance of the new titanium-gold alloy could extend the lifespan of these implants, reducing the need for replacement surgeries.

Moreover, its superior biocompatibility suggests fewer risks of rejection or complications, improving patient outcomes. This material could represent a significant advancement in medical technology, enhancing the quality of life for people who rely on artificial joints and implants.
