Constitution of Super Sapiens Student Society of Department of Zoology, Govt. College Solan, for the Session 2026-27 & remembering Sir Ronald Ross’s contribution in the field of Malaria on World Mosquito Day.
Chief guest: Dr Shivani Sharma, Principal, GC Solan.
Special Guests: Dr Yogesh Jain

Presentations were given on Mosquito as a vector by Muskan and Diseases spread by different types of Mosquitoes by Patanjali. A Quiz was also organised on the same topics. Overall a good show of enthusiasm, dedication and Co-ordination by Super Sapiens.

Zoology Students of BSc III year visited Veterinary Polyclinic Situated in Kotla Nala Solan to get exposure to the working of Department of Animal Husbandry. Dr Kaushik explained each and every aspect in detail ranging from the post hierarchy, Animal handling, Diagnosis and Treament methods. He also answered many queries of the students regarding stray dog management through Sterlization and on the field surgeries of the big animals like cows and buffaloes etc.

Students of BSc Final Year, spread awareness about ornamental Fishes to be kept in aquarium; their looks, behaviour, cost etc . They also stressed on adopting fish keeping as a hobby and converting it into a lucrative career.
