Success is a journey, not a destination

Who knows if the dreams we dream will come true or not. Be sure of one thing, the journey and struggle of any dream will teach you so much more about life and yourself than you ever imagined.

Never stop, it’s ok to tweak, change the route but doing something that challenges you will always make you grow.

Never Forget Your History: Month of Poh & Sikhi

Poh (ਪੋਹ) is the tenth month in the Sikh Calendar. It is a significant month for Sikhs, as we remember the supreme sacrifice of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s family; The four Sahibzade (sons) and Mata Gujri (mother).

Battle of Chamkaur which took place in December, 1704 CE in which forty two Sikhs (under Guru Gobind Singh Ji) fought bravely against ten lakh Mughal forces under the command of Wazir Khan. In the battle of Chamkaur, both the elder sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sahibzada Ajit Singh and Sahibzada Jujhar Singh were martyred in combat.

The Chhotte Sahibzade, younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji attained martyrdom on 26 December 1704 at a very young age of 9 & 7 only. This is known as Saka Sirhind. Mata Gujri Ji, Baba Zoravar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji were prisoned on an Open Tower (Thanda Burj) in the cold month of a December. Later the two sons where bricked alive and their throat slit after the bricked wall fell to the ground rendering both the children unconscious. Mata Gujri Ji also died the same day after both Sahibzade whewerertyred.

May we never forget these supreme sacrifices and our priceless Sikhi.

This year visiting Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi hits differently.

The Sikh community are remembering the 350th year that the Ninth Guru.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Jia was Martyred in Delhi alongside Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji and Bhai Dayala Ji.

This was one of the greatest sacrifices in human history.
The 9th Guru of the Sikhs, stood for a truth that wasn’t only for Sikhs — it was for everyone.

In 1675, when the Mughal emperor forced thousands to abandon their religion, Kashmir’s Hindus came to Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee for help.

The Guru didn’t fight for land… not for power… not for his own people only.

He stood for freedom of conscience — the right of every human to choose their faith. This choice led to death.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee is remembered as the Shield of Humanity, a protector of all religions, all communities.

Today, the world celebrates not a martyrdom of death…
but a victory of courage, freedom, and human dignity.
May we never forget this sacrifice and continue to fight for the betterment of all.
