Day 11 of the Summer Skill Boost Program was dedicated to a Handwriting Practice Session, focusing on improving neatness, letter formation, and overall writing discipline. The session began with a brief demonstration on correct posture, pencil grip, and spacing—small habits that make a big difference in handwriting quality.
Students practiced writing both uppercase and lowercase letters, followed by simple words and short sentences. Special attention was given to proper letter formation, alignment on lines, and maintaining consistent size. Teachers guided each child individually, correcting strokes and encouraging them to slow down and write carefully rather than rushing.
To make the session engaging, children were given structured worksheets and notebook exercises where they traced letters first and then wrote independently. Repetition helped build muscle memory, while continuous feedback improved accuracy. Many students showed visible progress within the session itself.
The atmosphere was calm and focused, allowing children to concentrate and take pride in their work. Through guided activities, students practiced recognizing letter sounds and blending them to form simple words.
Children actively participated in reading exercises using phonics charts, where they identified patterns such as short vowel sounds and practiced sounding out words step-by-step. This helped them move beyond memorization and actually understand how words are formed. Writing activities followed, where students carefully wrote phonics-based words in their notebooks, reinforcing both spelling and sound recognition.
Interactive group tasks played a key role in the session. Students worked together to read aloud, identify sounds, and correct each other, building confidence and collaboration. Day 9 of the Summer Skill Boost Program focused on English Day 2: Simple Reading & Vocabulary, and it was filled with active participation and joyful learning. Children engaged in hands-on activities using colorful charts, phonics boards, and interactive word sheets that made reading both fun and meaningful. They practiced identifying letters, blending sounds, and reading simple words with confidence.
The session included group activities where students pointed to words on charts and read them aloud together, encouraging teamwork and peer learning. Phonics exercises, especially with short vowel sounds like “e,” helped children improve their pronunciation and word recognition skills. They also explored action words and basic vocabulary through visual aids displayed on the smart board, making it easier to connect words with meanings.
A special highlight was learning homophones, where children discovered words that sound the same but have different meanings, sparking curiosity and excitement. Writing practice in notebooks further reinforced their understanding.

Summer Skill Boost Program – Day 6 (Monday, April 27): Measurement Day 1 (Shapes & Area Measurement)
Day 6 introduced students to the exciting world of shapes and area measurement through hands-on exploration and interactive learning. Children began by identifying basic 2D shapes such as squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles, discussing their properties in a simple and engaging manner. Teachers used real-life objects and classroom materials to help students connect shapes with their surroundings.

The highlight of the session was understanding the concept of area—how much space a shape covers. Instead of jumping straight into formulas, students used square grids, tiles, and paper cut-outs to visually measure area. This activity helped them grasp the idea in a concrete and enjoyable way. Older students were gradually introduced to simple formulas for rectangles and squares, while younger children focused on counting units.

The classroom was filled with excitement as each child created a unique and colorful version of India.
