Third Day of Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Dikchu

The third day of the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp was successfully conducted at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Dikchu. The activities focused on vocabulary building, practical phrases, common expressions, and traditional Limboo idioms (Ukhan).

Students learned new words, phrases, and the meanings of various Limboo idioms, helping them understand the language and its cultural significance. The session was interactive and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students.

A total of 60 students and 8 teachers participated in the programme, making the day both informative and engaging.

International Yoga Day Celebrated at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Dikchu
Dikchu, June 21: Govt. Senior Secondary School, Dikchu, observed International Yoga Day with active participation from students and teachers. A yoga session was conducted in the school premises, where participants practiced various yoga asanas and breathing exercises.
The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of yoga for physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle. Students enthusiastically took part in the activities and learned the benefits of regular yoga practice.
The event concluded with a message encouraging everyone to adopt yoga as a daily habit for a healthier life.

सरकारी वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय, डिक्चुमा फोहोर वर्गीकरण अभियान

गान्तोक ।
सरकारी वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक विद्यालय, डिक्चुले आज विद्यार्थीहरूमा वातावरणीय चेतना अभिवृद्धि गर्न तथा दिगो फोहोर व्यवस्थापनलाई प्रवर्द्धन गर्न प्रभावकारी फोहोर वर्गीकरण तथा पुनःप्रयोग (रिसाइक्लिङ) कार्यक्रम सञ्चालन गरेको छ।

चरण १: विद्यालयमा भिजेको फोहोर, सुख्खा फोहोर र प्लास्टिकजन्य फोहोरका लागि छुट्टाछुट्टै डस्टबिनसहित "फोहोर वर्गीकरण क्षेत्र" स्थापना गरिएको छ।

चरण २: प्रत्येक दिनको अन्तिम पिरियडमा प्रत्येक कक्षाका कक्षा प्रतिनिधिले फोहोर सङ्कलन गरी वर्गीकरण गर्छन्। सम्बन्धित शिक्षकले उक्त फोहोरको तौल नापेर अभिलेख राख्ने कार्य गर्नुहुन्छ।

चरण ३: वर्गीकृत फोहोरलाई कागज, प्लास्टिक आदि प्रकारअनुसार छुट्टाछुट्टै बोरामा सङ्कलन गरी सुरक्षित रूपमा राखिन्छ।

चरण ४: मध्याह्न भोजन (Mid-Day Meal) बाट निस्कने साग सब्जीको छिल्का फालिँदैन। त्यसलाई सङ्कलन गरी गाई, बाख्राको आहारको रूपमा प्रयोग गरिन्छ, जसले जैविक फोहोरको उचित उपयोग सुनिश्चित गर्दछ।

चरण ५: सङ्कलित सुख्खा फोहोरलाई थप प्रशोधन वा व्यवस्थापनका लागि विद्यालयको निर्धारित डम्पिङ क्षेत्रमा राखिन्छ।

चरण ६: विद्यार्थीहरूलाई फोहोर सामग्रीको पुनःप्रयोग तथा पुनर्चक्रण गर्न प्रोत्साहित गरिन्छ। यस अभियानअन्तर्गत विद्यार्थीहरूले फोहोर सामग्रीबाट उपयोगी हस्तकलाका सामग्री निर्माण गरेका छन्। उदाहरणका रूपमा, उनीहरूले फोहोर सामग्री प्रयोग गरी टेबलक्लोथ तयार गरेका छन्।
यस गतिविधिले विद्यार्थीहरूमा वातावरणप्रति जिम्मेवारीको भावना विकास गर्नुका साथै पुनर्चक्रण र पुनःप्रयोगको संस्कार बढाउँछ, फोहोर उत्पादन घटाउँछ तथा विद्यालय परिसरलाई स्वच्छ, सौन्दर्य र वातावरणमैत्री बनाउन महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदान पुर्‍याउँछ ।

𝐷𝐼𝐾𝐶𝐻𝑈, 𝐽𝑢𝑛𝑒 5:
Dikchu Government Senior Secondary School observed Bagless Day on Friday in celebration of World Environment Day 2026, transforming the school campus into a vibrant hub of environmental awareness, creativity, and community action. Guided by this year's theme, "Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future," the day unfolded as a living lesson on caring for the planet.

The programme commenced with an informative address by NSS Programme Officer, who spoke about the significance of World Environment Day and the collective responsibility of protecting the environment. This was followed by an inspiring speech from Class X student, who encouraged fellow students to become responsible custodians of nature.

A series of student-centred competitions, including painting, drawing, essay writing, and quiz contests, were organised throughout the day. With enthusiastic participation from students across different classes, the event blossomed into a colourful showcase of ideas, creativity, and environmental consciousness. Through art, words, and knowledge, young minds expressed their hopes for a greener future.

Taking the celebration beyond the classroom, students, teachers, and staff participated in a mass cleanliness drive stretching from Upper Dikchu Bazar to the entire school campus. Armed with determination and civic spirit, participants worked together to make their surroundings cleaner and healthier. The programme also featured a large-scale flower plantation drive, with colourful saplings planted around the campus, adding new life and beauty to the school environment.

The event concluded environmental pledge, where the entire school community reaffirmed its commitment to protecting nature and promoting sustainable practices.

Organised jointly under the banners of the NSS Club, ECO Club, and NCC, the programme was attended by SMC President Shri Ram Lall Gurung, the Vice Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students. The celebration served as a reminder that every small action, like a seed planted in fertile soil, can grow into a meaningful contribution towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
