Presenting a special glimpse from my collection — original British India silver coins spanning the reigns of Queen Victoria, Edward VII, George V, and George VI.
From the dignified portrait of Victoria Empress to the wartime issues of George VI, these coins witnessed revolutions, famines, world wars, and ultimately India’s march toward independence. Each rupee, half rupee, and fractional denomination carries not just silver value — but the weight of history.
Struck in .917 and .500 silver across different eras, their toning, patina, and mint marks tell silent stories of Calcutta, Bombay, and beyond.
Over a century later, they still shine — not merely as currency, but as preserved chapters of India’s past.
History doesn’t disappear… it survives in silver.
