About "The Trail": The Best Kept Secret
Even though the focus of Siloam is the programmes that are designed at providing counselling skills training to clergy, religious, teachers, parents and youth workers and leaders, there is something else that is uniquely called "The Siloam Experience", It consists of 11 water-front cottages that we have we have for those who seriously want to make a personal and introspective journey back to their human, psychological and spiritual roots. This facility is meant to provide a special ambience under which individuals can examine the efficacy, personal satisfaction and fulfilment of their current level of functioning and under some professional guidance, make necessary changes for the future. We might even suggest the term of a "Turning Point" like the turning points that were experienced by the great Christians who became saints. Hence these cottages capture the humanity and the spirituality of saints like Augustine, Paul, Theresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Ignatius, Therese of Lisieux, Bl. Mother Theresa, Francis of Assisi and John Vianney. We hope that if one dares to walk the journeys with these saints they would discover the same fulfilment and happiness as the saints. This is what we envisage as a Siloam Experience. We also hope that the essence of this journey is comprehensively contained in the Emmaus Journey - of the Disciples of Emmaus. We hope that Siloam will provide an opportunity for all who come here, an opportunity to walk the Emmaus Journey with the Stranger, and be transformed into persons who find meaning and fulfilment in their lives.
