A, B and C can do a piece of work in 15 days. After all the three worked for 2 days, A left. B and C worked for 10 more days and B left. C worked for another 40 days and completed the work. In how many days can A alone complete the work if C can complete it in 75 days?

CAT pattern has changed. And in my opinion it was need of the hour. I know we seldom like changes as we have a habit of keeping ourselves in a familiar environment. But let me be practical and write my own opinion on this change, and subsequently the effects it will have on all of us.
1. The exam will be held only on two days. I consider it a positive change. We will not have issues related to difficulty level and normalisation process adopted by IIMs to compare the score.
2. We can switch from one section to other, which was not allowed in last five years' CAT. Again a very positive change.
3. Time per question has decreased from more than two minutes to less than two minutes now. That means either the difficulty level should go a little down, otherwise the cut off might be a less percentage of score than previous online version. (CAT 2009-2013 has seen a sharp increase in percentage marks for the cut off ,roughly 60% compared to offline version cut off which used to be roughly 30-35% only)
4. CAT was previously known for the change in pattern every year. The thrill of writing CAT was almost disappearing for we teachers for last 2-3 years. Now I must say AB MAZAA AAYEGA ...(Seriously I write CAT & XAT for that MAZAA only. (Salman Khan ke language mein bolu toh KICK ke liye).
For all my students, just stay relaxed. Focus on ur preparation. We have more time now. We have mock tests on changed pattern now. Keep ur prep level so high that these changes should not give you any panic jolt. Ultimately all these changes are for everyone, and not for you only. I will take one class on "STRATEGY FOR TAKING CAT IN CHANGED VERSION" in first week of August. Till then keep urself active and be in touch. God bless u all.
