Yi Ranchi Cyclothon

 

 

Ranchi – 23rd April 2022: Young Indians “Yi” (Youth wing of CII) in association with Bicycle Mayor of Ranchi –has organised a cycling event for cycling enthusiasts of Ranchi on 23rd April 2022 at 5: AM. The event is called Yi Ranchi Cyclothon and it received over 100 participation from both male and female cyclists of Ranchi.

 

The event was organised by Yi with an aim to connect the youth of Ranchi with the cause of climate change and staying fit both physically and mentally. The event is in line with Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav, being celebrated by Govt of India to celebrate 75th year of independence and the fit India movement of the government.

 

The event was supported by Kanishka Poddar, Bicycle Mayor of Ranchi and members of Yi who worked day and night to make the event happen.

 

The event was divided in 3 categories named 1) 50 Km on Mountain or Hybrid Bicycle, 2) 30 Km on Mountain or Hybrid Bicycle and 3) 50 km on Road Bicycle. The cyclists were supposed to ride in a designated route which started at Morabadi Ground and went through Kanke road till Pithoria Chowk for 30 Kms category and down the Patratu Valley for 50 kms category.

 

Prizes were awarded to both male and female cyclists separately in each category for being fastest to complete the distance along with gift hamper. Every rider who finished the designated distance in his or her category was awarded with a medal and certificate of completion.

Mr Vikas Sinha, chairman of Yi Ranchi Chapter said We are celebrating 75 years AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV and in our style of celebration we are supporting our vertical CLIMATE CHANGE. If we all start cycling and add it in our daily lifestyle it will eventually make us healthy and fitter and we can all contribute towards a better environment and leave a better world for our generations to see..

Young Indians in association with Bicycle Mayor of Ranchi is organising *Yi Ranchi Cyclothon* on Saturday, 23rd April 2022.

The event is divided into two categories of 30 kms and 50 kms. Every participant who completes the ride will be awarded with completion certificate and a medal. *Lots of prizes to be won as well.* Special prize for female riders.
