Mody Government Pharmacy College, only government degree Pharmacy College in Gujarat State, was started as one of the departments in Government Polytechnic, Rajkot in 1976. In 1984, the Government of Gujarat initiated degree pharmacy course in this pharmacy department, with exemplary donation of Rs. 20 lacs by Shri J. Mody, the Managing Director, Unique Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Mody Government Pharmacy College in the memory of late Bhagwanlal K. Modi and late Smt. Jayakunvar Modi. Today, the college, owned by the Government of Gujarat is conducting M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics, intake 18), degree pharmacy (intake 60) and diploma pharmacy (intake 60), courses, under auspices of the Directorate of Technical Education, Gandhinagar. All the courses are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi.
