Viraasat provides young artists with the opportunity to showcase their talent, and share space with established, renowned artists. It offers a space for young artists to gain recognition for their talents, and provide them with a space to develop themselves in the field of Indian Classical Music. At the Indian Music Group, we believe in keeping tradition alive in this generation as well as those to follow, and Viraasat is the perfect representation of this belief.

The competition will be held on 15th September at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.

This competition is for melodic instruments, and vocals. So any of you interested and fit the age group, or would know anyone who would like to participate in instruments like Sitar, Sarod, Flute or Classical Vocal anything, please spread the word!

About the *Indian Music Group*

IMG is a *46 year old* institution, set in 1973 by the great *Ustad Alla Rakha Khan* and his son *Ustad Zakir Hussain*. Over this journey of 4 decades, St Xavier's College's Indian Music Group has witnessed stellar performances by exponents of every field in its flagship event, JanFest. These people include - *Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pt Jasraj, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pandit Ravi Shankar, Vidushi Kishori Amonkar* and many more.

About *Viraasat*

Viraasat is a recent concept started by the IMG, to provide a platform for young artists to showcase their talent. Previous performers include *Ishaan Ghosh, Indrayudh Majumdar, Sarang Kulkarni, Deepika Bhide* and more.

Last year, we organised the first ever competition for Viraasat and the winner gets to perform before the main artist at the day of the concert.

Viraasat provides young artists with a great opportunity to present their art form and give them wide exposure to start their careers.
