Ministry of Education recently published the . NIRF evaluates the engineering institute in five different parameters viz. Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduating Outcome (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception. Each of these parameters reflects different aspects of the institute. Although a composite score from these five parameters is used to rank the institute, each student may not be interested in all these parameters as their expectations are different. For example, undergraduate students may be only interested in GO and PG may want to also look into RP along with GO. Therefore, depending upon the individual interest each student should appropriately select the parameters and rank the institute as per their preference. Within GO one of the parameters, which determine the placement record of the institute is GPH (Combined metric for placement and higher studies) and GMS (Median salary). The attached image indicates the GPH score of all IIT's. It is very hearting to see IIT Bhilai is performing really well in terms of GPH (Ranked 8th among all IIT). Data published in NIRF can be useful for student to evaluate the strength and weaknesses of each institute.
