This dhyāna śloka presents Śrī Mātā as Lalitā Tripurasundarī, not merely as a beautiful goddess seated on a lotus, but as the Supreme Reality choosing to become accessible to the heart of the sādhaka.
In Śrīvidyā, Lalitā is not one devatā among many. She is Parāśakti, the self-awareness of Śiva, the Vimarśa of pure consciousness. Śiva as Prakāśa is the unmoving light of Being; Lalitā as Vimarśa is that same light knowing itself, delighting in itself, and manifesting the universe as līlā. This is why She is called Lalitā: She plays. Creation is not a burden to Her, not a mistake, not a fall from purity. It is Her effortless sport, Her graceful self-expression.That is why this śloka does not visualize Her as Lakṣmī alone, though Lakṣmī is fully contained in Her. Lakṣmī gives śrī, prosperity, auspiciousness, nourishment, and royal grace. But Lalitā is the source of śrī itself. She is not merely the giver of wealth within creation; She is the Mother from whom creation, knowledge, beauty, power, mantra, and liberation arise. So the verse uses golden radiance, yellow garments, lotus imagery, ornaments, and prosperity-language, but it takes all of that beyond Lakṣmī-tattva into Śrīvidyā-tattva. The beauty and abundance here are not just worldly blessings; they are the signs of Brahman appearing as Mother.

She is visualized seated on the lotus because the lotus expresses the paradox of manifestation. The lotus grows from mud but is untouched by it. In the same way, Śrī Mātā manifests the universe but is never bound by it. She is inside nāma-rūpa, yet beyond nāma-rūpa. She is the power behind body, senses, desire, mind, karma, and experience, yet She remains stainless consciousness. To meditate on Her seated on the lo
