“Cyber Awareness is Essential to Stay Safe in the Digital World”: Col. Janardan Khadilkar
Pune: In the backdrop of the increasing number of cyber crimes in the digital age, citizens need to remain alert while using the internet, said Col. Janardan Khadilkar. He was speaking at a guidance lecture on Cyber Security organized by the Late Asha Mohanlal Sharma Vocational Training Centre, run by Mitramandal Education Society.
The programme was held on Saturday (March 14) from 6 pm to 8 pm. During the session, Col. Khadilkar explained various aspects of cyber safety in a simple and effective manner. He elaborated on safe internet usage, social media fraud, risks involved in online shopping, email phishing, fake links, OTP scams and banking fraud.
Through PPT presentations, informative videos and real-life examples, he explained the concepts of cyber security in a clear and easily understandable way. He also advised participants to create strong passwords, use antivirus software, avoid clicking on unknown links and be cautious while sharing personal information on social media.
He further informed the audience about reporting cyber crimes through the Government of India’s helpline number 1930 and the cyber complaint system. He emphasized the importance of the “Golden Hour”, stating that reporting fraud immediately can help prevent financial loss.
At the end of the lecture, he also guided students about career opportunities in the field of cyber security, including ethical hacking and network security.
At the beginning of the programme, Mr. Paranjape introduced the chief guest Col. Janardan Khadilkar. Mrs. Swati Bhave, President of Mitramandal Education Society, was specially present for the event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Bhagyashree Supnekar.

“डिजिटल जगात सुरक्षित राहण्यासाठी सायबर जागरूकता अत्यावश्यक” : कर्नल जनार्दन खाडिलकर
पुणे : डिजिटल युगात वाढत्या सायबर गुन्ह्यांच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर नागरिकांनी इंटरनेटचा वापर करताना अधिक सतर्क राहणे आवश्यक असल्याचे प्रतिपादन कर्नल जनार्दन खाडिलकर यांनी केले. मित्रमंडळ एज्युकेशन सोसायटी संचलित स्व. आशा मोहनलाल शर्मा व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण केंद्राच्या वतीने सायबर सुरक्षा विषयावर आयोजित मार्गदर्शनपर व्याख्यानात ते बोलत होते. हा कार्यक्रम शनिवारी (दि. १४) सायंकाळी पार पडला.
इंटरनेटचा सुरक्षित वापर, सोशल मीडियावरील फसवणूक, ऑनलाइन शॉपिंगमधील धोके, ई-मेल फिशिंग, बनावट लिंक, OTP व बँकिंग फसवणूक यांसारख्या विविध सायबर गुन्ह्यांबाबत त्यांनी उपस्थितांना माहिती दिली. पीपीटी सादरीकरण, माहितीपूर्ण व्हिडिओ तसेच प्रत्यक्ष जीवनातील उदाहरणांच्या माध्यमातून त्यांनी सायबर सुरक्षेचे महत्त्व स्पष्ट केले.
मजबूत पासवर्ड तयार करणे, अँटीव्हायरसचा वापर करणे, अनोळखी लिंकवर क्लिक टाळणे तसेच सोशल मीडियावर वैयक्तिक माहिती शेअर करताना आवश्यक ती खबरदारी घेण्याचे आवाहन त्यांनी केले. सायबर फसवणूक झाल्यास त्वरित तक्रार नोंदविण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारचा १९३० हेल्पलाईन क्रमांक तसेच सायबर तक्रार व्यवस्थेबाबत माहिती देण्यात आली. ‘गोल्डन अवर’ संकल्पनेनुसार त्वरित तक्रार केल्यास आर्थिक नुकसान टाळता येते, असेही त्यांनी सांगितले.
व्याख्यानाच्या शेवटी सायबर सुरक्षा, एथिकल हॅकिंग व नेटवर्क सिक्युरिटी या क्षेत्रांतील करिअरच्या संधींबाबत त्यांनी विद्यार्थ्यांना मार्गदर्शन केले.
कार्यक्रमाच्या प्रारंभी श्री. परांजपे यांनी कर्नल जनार्दन खाडिलकर यांचा परिचय करून दिला. मित्रमंडळ एज्युकेशन सोसायटीच्या अध्यक्षा सौ. स्वाती भावे यांची विशेष उपस्थिती होती. कार्यक्रमाच्या शेवटी सौ. भाग्यश्री सुपनेकर यांनी आभार मानले.

“AI Guided by Awareness and Ethics Can Transform Humanity” — Prasad Shirgaonkar Inspires Audience
Pune | February 14, 2026:
An engaging and thought-provoking lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) captivated a diverse audience at the Late Asha Mohanlal Sharma Vocational Centre, organized by Mitra Mandal Education Society on Saturday evening (February 14). Held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, the session drew educators, students, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts eager to understand the future shaped by AI.
The keynote speaker, acclaimed director, author, and computer expert Mr. Prasad Shirgaonkar, delivered a compelling address exploring the global momentum of AI innovation. Citing real-world examples from China and Europe, he illustrated how autonomous robotic systems are transforming manufacturing, services, and everyday life. He further explained how emerging autonomous vehicle technologies have the potential to significantly reduce road accidents through intelligent sensing and predictive systems.
Highlighting AI’s practical relevance, Mr. Shirgaonkar demonstrated its growing applications in creative writing, Marathi short story generation, content summarization, video production, and programming. He emphasized that AI is not merely a technological trend but a transformative force impacting employment, entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, relationships, and personal development.
While underscoring the immense opportunities AI presents, he also addressed ethical and social considerations. Stressing responsible adoption, he remarked that awareness, discipline, and human values must guide technological advancement. “AI should empower humanity—not replace its conscience,” he noted, urging the audience to adopt a balanced and mindful approach.
The program began with an introduction and overview of the centre by Mr. Amogh Paranjape. The Chairperson of the institution, Mrs. Swati Bhave, Mr Dilip Bapat, Dr Aruna Sivram, Mr Ramesh Shrigaud, Mr Shirish Sumant graced the occasion with their presence. ‘सजगता आणि स्वनियंत्रणासह एआयचा वापर केला तर तो मानवजातीसाठी वरदान’ — प्रसाद शिरगावकर
पुणे, दि. १४ फेब्रुवारी : मित्र मंडळ एज्युकेशन सोसायटी संचालित स्वर्गीय आशा मोहनलाल शर्मा व्यवसाय केंद्र येथे ‘कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI)’ या विषयावरील मार्गदर्शक व्याख्यान उत्साहात पार पडले. शनिवारी (दि. १४) सायंकाळी ६ ते ८ या वेळेत आयोजित कार्यक्रमात प्रसिद्ध दिग्दर्शक, लेखक व संगणक तज्ज्ञ मा. श्री प्रसादजी शिरगावकर यांनी प्रमुख वक्ते म्हणून उपस्थितांना संबोधित केले.
कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्तेच्या झपाट्याने वाढणाऱ्या प्रभावाचा आढावा घेताना शिरगावकर यांनी चीन व युरोपमधील स्वयंचलित रोबोट्सच्या वापराची उदाहरणे सादर केली. उद्योग, उत्पादन आणि सेवा क्षेत्रात एआयमुळे कार्यक्षमता व अचूकता कशी वाढते, याचे विश्लेषण त्यांनी केले. तसेच भविष्यातील ऑटोनॉमस (स्वयंचलित) वाहन तंत्रज्ञानामुळे रस्ते अपघातांचे प्रमाण लक्षणीयरीत्या घटण्याची शक्यता व्यक्त करताना संबंधित तांत्रिक बाबी सोप्या भाषेत स्पष्ट केल्या.
एआयच्या विविध अ‍ॅप्लिकेशन्सचा ऊहापोह करताना लेखन, मराठी लघुकथा निर्मिती, सारांश लेखन, व्हिडिओ निर्मिती, प्रोग्रामिंग आदी क्षेत्रांतील उपयुक्तता त्यांनी अधोरेखित केली. रोजगार, उद्योग-व्यवसाय, शिक्षण, आरोग्य, नातेसंबंध आणि आत्मविकास या क्षेत्रांमध्ये एआयचा सकारात्मक व परिणामकारक वापर कसा करता येईल, याबाबत मार्गदर्शन केले. त्याचबरोबर तंत्रज्ञानाच्या अतिरेकामुळे उद्भवू शकणाऱ्या नैतिक व सामाजिक आव्हानांकडेही त्यांनी लक्ष वेधले.
