Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI) is dedicated to delivering high quality maritime education and
training to prepare its students for rewarding careers in the shipping and allied industry. TMI
offers degree programmes as well as a variety of short-term courses covering both the
engineering and nautical disciplines. With over 1,500 students enrolled in its campus-based and distance learning programme

s, it is one of the largest maritime institutes in the region. Its campus-based programmes require students to reside on its purpose built over 100-acre campus to take full advantage of the modern facilities and infrastructure and imbibe a culture of collaborative learning and teamwork. TMI
also extends the reach of its very successful academic model to the ship via highly effective
distance learning programmes designed for cadets and junior officers. These seafarers are
thereby able to benefit from a structured education that seamlessly dovetails with their
professional activities and progress, culminating in the award of a college degree, without a multi-year attendance at a shore-based institution. Though itself a very young institute, established in 1998, its graduates are awarded degrees by the well established Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, a deemed university, widely recognized as one of India's pre-eminent centres for technology education.

Genuino Day Celebrated at TMI

Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for anyone making interactive projects. Genuino is Arduino’s sister-brand created for boards and products sold outside the US.

Arduino Day is a worldwide birthday celebration of Arduino and Genuino. It's a 24 hours-long event –organized directly by the community, or by the Arduino founders– where people interested in Arduino and Genuino get together, share their experiences, and learn more.

TMI celebrated Genuino Day 2016 with display of projects in campus.
