Welcome to Gurukul : Preserve and nurture Dhrupad—the oldest Hindustani classical music—through Guru-Shishya tradition.
Founded by Inoue Sou and Vishal Bhattarai, guided by Gundecha Brothers. Immerse in sound, meditation, and self-discovery. Inoue Sou and Vishal Bhattarai have trained in Dhrupad vocal under the able guidance of the Gundecha brothers, in the Dagarvani tradition at Dhrupad Sansthan Bhopal Nyas (2008-2013). In 2013, they established Dhrupad Gurukul Kathmandu in Nepal with the approval of their Gurus.

The musical gathering “Swarayan” by the students of Dhrupad Gurukul Kathmandu took place this morning at Agri Studio, Thecho.
Organized on the occasion of the Winter Solstice, the program unfolded as a dialogue between nature and culture. Heartfelt gratitude to Isa ji, Srishti ji, Anwesh ji, and everyone else who helped make this event meaningful.

The gathering is being held on the occasion of the Winter Solstice (Shīt Āyanānta).

わたしは若い時に、
たったひとつの音だけで音楽ができたらどんなにいいだろう、と思っていた。
実際いろいろ試したりもしたけれど、思い通りにはいかなかった。
ドゥルパド-Dhrupad-のように、たったひとつの音の描写（ディテール）のために千年来、絶えず迫ろうと試みるような壮絶な音楽を自分は他に知らない。
ド・レ・ミ・ファ、とそれぞれの音には一応名前がつけられている。
丁度、あなたにも名前が一応つけられているように。
でも、誰かさんがあなたの名前を知っているからといって、あなたのことを
ほんとうに知っていると言えるだろうか。
