Comment “said” for the entire word list of ‘Stop saying said’ format in story narrative writing.

Is your child still using only ‘said’ in dialogues?

These alternate words would enhance their story narration as they express the right emotion.

AI can write a story in seconds.

But can it teach your child how to think?

That’s why creative writing still matters. ✍️

When a child learns creative writing, they learn to:
✨ Think independently
✨ Organise their thoughts
✨ Express ideas clearly
✨ Use language creatively
✨ Build confidence in communication
✨ Develop their own voice

AI can generate words.

But your child needs to learn how to generate ideas.

The future won’t belong to children who compete with AI at writing.

It will belong to children who know what to ask, what to create, what to question, and how to express it. 💡

So yes, let children use AI.

But first, teach them to think without it. ❤️

Most children don’t struggle with writing because they lack ideas. They struggle because no one has shown them how to write.

Here’s the 4-step method I use to transform my students’ writing:

✨ Step 1: Build powerful vocabulary and writing techniques like similes, metaphors, personification, and Show, Don’t Tell.

✨ Step 2: Teach them how to naturally use these techniques in essays, stories, and paragraphs instead of memorising them.

✨ Step 3: Help them master the structure of different forms of writing, then give them plenty of guided writing practice.

✨ Step 4: Correct their grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and vocabulary so they improve with every piece they write.

This step-by-step approach helps children become confident, creative, and independent writers.

Why do therapists recommend journaling? ✍️

Because writing helps untangle thoughts, process emotions, and bring clarity to the mind.

A blank page is more powerful than we think.

That’s why creative writing is more than an academic skill. It helps children express themselves with confidence, reflect on their experiences, and develop into better thinkers, communicators, and storytellers.

Every story they write is a step toward finding their own voice. 💛
