Gifts from the Ocean…

Very pleased to announce that I have dived into the role of GM – Sales & Marketing for SSI India. It is an honour to be offered the position and I feel it is yet another gift from the Oceans for me. 20+ years of diving in, running, and managing dive businesses later, it is nice to be able to contribute to the Indian diving community and industry with this opportunity and hopefully take it a few notches higher. Thank you, Team SSI – International and India, for this priviledge.
My interest in and appreciation for SSI started during the peak of the pandemic, their arrival in India and the online Science of Diving course that SSI India introduced to anyone who may want to take it. That course and the multiple free-to-join webinars with some of the stalwarts of the Indian diving community introduced me to the world of SSI. I was fascinated with their course material and approach to safe, qualitative diving as well as their foray into the exciting world of Extended Range or Technical Diving.
Today, I know the SSI Universe is a lot bigger; it is huge, in fact! And offers so much more at every level of recreational diving, freediving, ecology-awareness, swimming and mermaid-ing around to name a few!
It is humbling to have sampled some of the best global diving Federations and Agencies in my life as a recreational diver. SSI now completes a holy trinity of sorts for me personally, after being a CMAS and PADI dive professional for the better part of the last 20 years. I hope to bring the best of my sensibilities and experiences to the role and truly do my bit to develop diving in India. I enjoyed my Crossover courses and am also a SSI Instructor now; I will always enjoy diving and instructing and look forward to being a student in various disciplines that I have yet to explore.
I have loved the Oceans since I can remember, and am blessed that they keep adding to, and enriching my life every day. I am thankful for its gifts. Best fishes to us all, as always. And see you in the Blue someday soon.

Very pleased to announce that I have rejoined Lacadives and will be back to the island-life in Havelock island, Andamans soon. I am joining as the Dive Centre Manager at the fabulous Taj Exotica resort, and look forward to a great new adventure in life.

For those of you who did not know, I exited from Absolute Scuba (India) this February and have not been part of it since then. I enjoyed my part and time with it but it was personally time to start experiencing newer adventures. And more of my beautiful Blue Planet.
My old, official phone number (997###x456) and work email ID has been returned to the firm since my exit in February this year, and I have been on another personal number and mail ID since.

I am eager to return to the islands and the ocean. This was the longest I was away from it at a stretch. A big thank you to Team and Luminousdeep; happy to be back in the fold again. Best Fishes to all of us as always! I look forward to seeing you in the Blue again.
