School of Mechanical Engineering (SoME), MIT-WPU, Pune is proud of the performance shown by Team Piranha Racing, the official BAJA team of MIT WPU. Team Piranha Racing is the Overall Champion at BAJA SAE India 2021, organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). This team has carried on the inspiring Piranha legacy of and won a total of 8 trophies in this competition.
Team Piranha competed with teams from engineering colleges from all over the country. Captain of the team is Aniruddha Joshi a final year B.Tech. Mechanical student and includes 28 students from the Faculty of Engineering. This team is mentored by our Professors Sachin Deshmukh and Shrihari Bondar. The leadership of SoME Prof.Dr.Sandip Chavan (HoS), Prof.Dr. Kakandikar Ganesh (AHoS), Prof.Dr. Shivprakash B. Barve (AHoS) has supported the team by providing dedicated space in the workshop and other required infrastructure.
