Having too many thoughts while studying is very common, your brain is trying to process everything at once.

The goal is never to stop these thoughts entirely but to manage and channel them so that they don't hijack your study sessions.
here are few tips:

1. Do a "brain dump" before studying: everytime you sit to study, for 3-5 min, just write whatever comes to your head-random ideas, worries, things you need to do later - like a rough book of all your thoughts.
2. Study in short, defined blocks. Long sessions can be hard initially, so, i suggest just sit for 25 min and then take a 5 min break. ONLY 5 min. Keep increasing the time to your comfort.
3. Make your task very specific for the time period. Like say instead of "I'il study geography", say "I'll read 12-15 pages of geography ncert for this session" Specific tasks gives your brain a target to finish before this time so it can stay focused.
4. Have a parking lot for your thoughts. Whenever you find yourself lost in thoughts during your study session, take a small piece of paper and write (park) the thought and immediately get back to studying
5. Ground your body to calm. Inhale for 4 seconds and exhale for 4 seconds. This will immediately reduce your thoughts and help you stay in the present and not in your head.
6. Accept your thoughts instead of fighting them. Trying to
'force' silence your thoughts makes it worse. Instead say
'noted, back to the paragraph i was studying'
7. Thoughts are of two types: actionable thoughts and repetitive thoughts. Make time after your study sessions to actionable thoughts like cooking, the reminders, completing a task. Write down your repetitive thoughts until they are out of your head.
These are personally tested by me and i feel they work great. You do not have to try all of them at once. try one at a time and see what works for you. You are HUMAN. Thoughts are normal, we just try to channel and manage these thoughts.

The RE-START LOOP

A simple way to start studying again (even after wasting days)
Let’s be honest…You didn’t “ruin everything.”You just stopped for a few days… and now it feels hard to begin again.

That heavy feeling? The guilt? The overthinking?Yeah, that’s what actually keeps you stuck, not laziness.

So instead of forcing a big comeback, try this softer way.

R: Release the guilt.

Before you even open your book, pause, say this to yourself, “Okay… those days are gone. I start from now.”
No blaming. No overthinking. Because the truth is, guilt doesn’t push you forward, it just makes starting harder.

E: Enter with just 10 minutes.
Just sit down and say:“I’ll do 10 minutes. That’s it.”
Put on a timer. Open your notes. Read something easy. Most of the time, you’ll continue. But even if you don’t, you still showed up.
A win-win.

S: Shrink it down.

Right now, your brain doesn’t want “big tasks.”So don’t give it one.
Take a pen and paper and write a list of goals that you'd like to accomplish.
Instead of a full chapter, do something tiny:

• one concept

• one page

• a couple of questions

Starting small isn’t being lazy, it’s being smart when you feel stuck.

T — Touch familiar things firstDon’t jump into new topics immediately.Start with things you already kind of know:

• formulas

• headings

• diagrams

• old questions

A: Avoid just ONE distraction.

You don’t need a perfect setup.Just remove one thing that distracts you the most.
Maybe:

• keep your phone in another room

• or turn on airplane modeThat one small change can make a big difference.

R: Reset early (this is important)

On Day 1, don’t try to do too much.Even if you feel like continuing… stop after 20–30 minutes.

Leave while it still feels okay so

tomorrow, your brain doesn’t resist coming back.

T — Track your comeback

At the end, don’t count hours.

Just write one line:✔ “I showed up today.”That’s it.

Because right now, consistency matters more than how much you study.

Final thing. You don’t need motivation. You don’t need a perfect plan. You just need a gentle restart.

And this is it.

Can't concentrate while studying? Read this beforeyour next study session.

If you read the same page five times or get distracted every few minutes, the problem isn't your intelligence-it's your focus.

Here's how to improve your concentration:

1. Study with one goal in mind.
Don't say, "'ll study Physics." Say, "I'll finish 25 MCQs on Current Electricity."
2. Remove distractions before they remove your focus.
Keep your phone in another room or turn on Focus Mode.
Every notification breaks your concentration.
3. Use the 50/10 or 25/5 method.
Study with full focus, then take a short break. Your brain performs better with planned breaks than nonstop studying.
4. Warm up your brain first.
Spend 5 minutes reviewing yesterday's notes or solving a few easy questions before starting something difficult.
5. Create a distraction-free study space.
A clean desk, good lighting, and only the materials you need can make a huge difference.
6. Stay hydrated and eat brain-friendly snacks.
Even mild dehydration can reduce your attention span.
7. If music helps, keep it instrumental.
Lyrics compete for your brain's attention. Lo-fi, classical, or nature sounds work better.
8. Write instead of just reading.
Solve questions, make notes, teach the topic out loud, or use active recall. Active learning keeps your brain engaged.
9. Don't sacrifice sleep.
A tired brain can't concentrate, no matter how motivated you are.
10. Move your body.
A 5-10 minute walk or stretching session before studying can improve your focus.
11. Stop multitasking.
One subject. One task. One goal. Multitasking slows you down and increases mistakes.
12. Train your focus like a muscle.
If you can only focus for 15 minutes today, that's okay.
Stay consistent and gradually increase your study time.

The biggest secret?
Concentration isn't something you're born with-it's something you build every single day.
Save this reel for your next study session, and send it
to a friend who gets distracted every 5 minutes.

Why Most People Forget What They Read 📚
The issue isn’t reading more.
It’s processing less.
Simply moving your eyes across a page creates familiarity, not lasting memory. Learning occurs when the brain actively retrieves, organizes, and applies information.

The R.E.C.A.L.L. Framework
Read đź‘€
With the intention of understanding a single core idea, rather than maximizing the number of pages you finish.

Explain 🗣️
Reconstruct the concept in your own words, as if you’re teaching it to someone with no prior knowledge. If you can’t explain it clearly, you haven’t fully understood it.

Connect đź”—
Integrate the new idea with knowledge you already possess. The brain retains information more effectively when it’s linked to existing mental frameworks.

Apply ✍️
Transform knowledge into action. Solve a problem, write a summary, or use the concept in a real situation. Application converts passive exposure into durable learning.

Look Back 🔄
Revisit the material after a day or two. Spaced review reinforces neural pathways and dramatically improves long-term retention.

The Learning Sequence
Read → Explain → Connect → Apply → Review

Knowledge isn’t measured by how much information you consume.

It’s measured by how much you can retrieve, apply, and retain when it matters.
