GDC Women Pulwama Organizes Signature Campaign under Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah
As part of the ongoing observance of Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah (17–26 June 2026), the NCORD Committee of Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama, in collaboration with the NSS Unit and NCC, organized a Signature Campaign on 18 June 2026 under the patronage of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sami Jan.
The programme was conducted in compliance with the directions of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), which culminates with the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June. The theme of the campaign is “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan.”
The campaign was inaugurated by the worthy Principal, who, in her address, called upon students to uphold strong moral values, stay away from drugs, and support their peers in leading healthy and responsible lives. She emphasized that students have a crucial role to play in creating a drug-free campus and contributing towards a safer and healthier society.
Faculty members, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, and students participated enthusiastically in the signature campaign, reaffirming their commitment to the cause of a drug-free India. The participants pledged to act as responsible citizens and actively support future awareness initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to combat substance abuse through awareness, education, and community participation.

GDC Women Pulwama Launches Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah with Mass Pledge Ceremony
In compliance with the directions of the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, the NCORD Committee of Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama, in collaboration with the NSS Unit and under the patronage of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sami Jan, organized a Mass Pledge Ceremony on 17 June 2026, marking the commencement of Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah (17–26 June 2026) under the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan.”
Addressing the participants, the worthy Principal emphasized that substance abuse poses a serious threat to the health, aspirations, and future of young people. She urged students to become agents of change and actively contribute towards building a drug-free society. She reiterated that the campaign aims to strengthen public commitment against drug abuse and advance the vision of a healthy, empowered, and developed India.
The programme featured the administration of the NMBA Pledge and an awareness session highlighting the devastating social, psychological, and economic consequences of substance abuse. Students participated enthusiastically and pledged their wholehearted support to the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. They also expressed their commitment to actively engage in the series of awareness activities scheduled throughout the week.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to reject drugs, promote healthy lifestyles, and work towards realizing the vision of a Drug-Free India and Viksit Bharat.

Theme: "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan – Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan"

Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama proudly commenced the observance of Nasha Mukt Bharat Saptah (17–26 June 2026) with active participation of students, faculty members, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, and NCORD committee members.

As part of this nationwide campaign, various awareness activities including Mass Pledge Drives, Signature Campaigns, Awareness Films, Social Media Outreach, Yoga Day Celebrations, Walkathons, Poster Making & Essay Competitions, and Community Awareness Programmes are being organized to educate youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle.
The initiative aims to strengthen collective efforts towards building a Drug-Free India and empowering youth to become ambassadors of positive change in society.
Let us join hands and pledge to create a healthier, safer, and stronger nation.

In response to Directorate of Colleges, J&K letter No. DC-HE/K/2026/RRC/1697 dated 02/06/2026 regarding mandatory integration of NACO’s Breakfree platform, the College Red Ribbon Club, under the able guidance of Worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sami Jan, displayed printed QR codes linking to NACO’s HIV/AIDS Self‑Risk Assessment Tool across campus. The QR codes were placed on notice boards and other prominent locations for the benefit of students and staff. Club members also briefed students about the platform, emphasizing its importance and demonstrating how to use it. The initiative was well received: students expressed interest, scanned the QR codes, and committed to using the digital resource to stay informed and seek help when needed.

College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell (CWASC), in collaboration with NCORD and the NSS Units of GDC for Women Pulwama today on 30.05.26, organised a painting competition followed by a rally on the eve of World No To***co Day. The event took place under the guidance and direction of the college principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sami Jan.
The painting competition drew enthusiastic participation from students across departments focusing on themes such as the health risks of to***co, the benefits of a to***co-free life, and calls for community action.
Following the competition, participants joined an awareness rally through the college campus. The rally featured banners, placards, and slogans promoting to***co cessation and healthy lifestyles
