The old Borim Bridge was constructed in the 1930s to connect Salcete and Ponda talukas. Later this same bridge was destroyed by the Portuguese in 1961 to halt the movement of the Indian army.

In 1986 a new bridge came up around and that's still the one we are driving on today 😅
