काम काट दिया,
मजदूरी टाल दी,

नाम मिटाने चले हैं।

यह सुधार नहीं है,
यह साज़िश है।

तुम्हें योजना से दिक्कत नहीं,
तुम्हें गांधी से दिक्कत है।
क्योंकि गांधी याद दिलाते है
कि सत्ता का मतलब सेवा होता है,
और तुम्हारी सत्ता
सिर्फ़ प्रचार चाहती है।

नाम बदलकर सोच रहे हो
इतिहास बदल जाएगा?
याद रखो,
जिस मिट्टी में
मज़दूर का पसीना गिरा है,
वहाँ गांधी लिखा है।

तुम्हारा डर साफ़ है,
एक आदमी,
जिसके पास न तख़्त था, न ताज,
आज भी तुम्हारी
नींद उड़ाता है।

इसलिए कभी किताबों से हटाते हो,
कभी योजनाओं से,
कभी चुप्पी से मारते हो,
कभी नाम बदलकर।

पर सुन लो,
गांधी न पोस्टर है,
न योजना का शीर्षक।
गांधी वो सवाल है
जो हर भूखे पेट से उठता है।

और जब तक
सवाल ज़िंदा हैं,
तुम्हारी हर कोशिश के बावजूद
गांधी ज़िंदा है।
