The Institute Innovation Council (IIC) of Shri D. D. Vispute College of Pharmacy and Research Centre (SDDVCOP&RC), under the aegis of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), AICTE, organized a MIC-Driven Activity titled “India’s IPR Policy and Provisions for Startups, Inventors and Innovators: Accelerating the IP Landscape in HEIs” on 24 August 2026 at 11:30 AM IST** in online mode. The session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Unnat P. Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, Government of India**. The programme enhanced awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), patents, designs, trademarks, protection of innovations, and commercialization opportunities for startups, inventors, and innovators. The session encouraged students, faculty members, and researchers to promote a strong culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and IPR in Higher Education Institutions. The activity was coordinated by Dr. Sunita Gagare and Prof. Radhika Mahalle, IIC Coordinators, under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Ashish Jain, Principal; Hon. Shri Dhanrajji Vispute, Chairman; and Hon. Mrs. Sangeeta Vispute, Secretary, Adarsh Group of Institutes. Overall, the programme was highly informative and successfully strengthened participants’ understanding of IPR and its vital role in fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization.
