From Rags to Reverence: Charlie Chaplin's Life Unfolds on Stage

Pawar Public School marked another year of distinction with a poignant and artistically vibrant Annual Day celebration themed around Charles Spencer Chaplin, held at Acharya Pralhad Keshav Atre Rangmandir, Kalyan. The event paid a stirring homage to the silent-era legend whose expressive genius transcended generations.

In the presence of Chief Guest Mrs. Veena Bangera, the afternoon honoured not just an artist, but a legacy of triumph over adversity. A riveting sequence of performances traced Chaplin’s journey from an impoverished childhood in London to his rise as cinema’s most iconic figure, capturing his struggles, resilience, and unique ability to find humour in hardship.

The grand finale, inspired by Yanni’s Standing in Motion, showcased a powerful fusion of contemporary instruments and beatboxing—an innovative tribute to youthful creativity—earning thunderous applause.

Mrs. Bangera lauded the performance as “truly professional and mesmerising,” appreciating the teamwork, concept, and the remarkable coordination of 325 students.

More than a tribute, the celebration embodied resilience, passion, and the unconquerable human spirit—reaffirming that even the most modest beginnings can shape legacies the world reveres.

Grade 8: Special Assembly
Theme: Power to Protect Earth
Date: 22nd April, 2026

On the occasion of Earth Day, the pupils of Grade 8 presented a special assembly centered on the theme 'Power to Protect Earth'.
Through this assembly our pupils reminded us about our planet Earth is not just a place we live in—it is our home, our provider, and our responsibility. Over the years, human activities have caused harm to nature through pollution, deforestation, and overconsumption. However, the power to change this story lies within each one of us.
Moreover, it highlighted that protecting the Earth does not require extraordinary powers. Simple actions like saving water, reducing plastic use, planting trees, and being mindful of our surroundings can create a significant impact.

This assembly is a reminder that every small step matters. When we act together, our collective effort becomes a powerful force for change. Let us pledge to respect nature, conserve resources, and make choices that support a healthier planet.

As young citizens, we hold the power to shape the future. Let us use this power wisely—to protect, preserve, and nurture our Earth.

Great leaders are not born—they are made through commitment and perseverance!
The Investiture Ceremony is a moment of pride and honour in the life of a school, as it marks the formal appointment of the newly elected Student Council. It is a solemn occasion where young leaders are entrusted with responsibilities and are inspired to uphold the values and ethos of the institution.
The ceremony commenced symbolising the dispelling of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge. The Principal, dignitaries, teachers, and students gathered to witness this significant event. The newly elected council members marched in with confidence and dignity, reflecting their readiness to take on leadership roles.
The Principal addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of discipline, responsibility, and teamwork. The student leaders were reminded that leadership is not about authority, but about service, commitment, and setting an example for others to follow.
The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking, where the council members pledged to carry out their duties with sincerity, integrity, and dedication. The badges and sashes were then conferred upon the Head Boy, Head Girl, House Prefects, Captains, Vice- Captains, and other office bearers, symbolising the trust placed in them by the school.
The ceremony concluded with words of encouragement and congratulations, motivating the newly appointed leaders to strive for excellence and lead with confidence and humility. The Investiture Ceremony not only instils a sense of responsibility in students but also nurtures leadership qualities that will guide them in their future endeavours. The ceremony concluded with the rendering of the National Song.

*Grace on stage, pride in our hearts*

There’s a special kind of pride that comes from watching our pupils shine—and this is one of those moments.
Our pupils recently represented the school at the *Mudra Dance Competition* organised by the *National Centre for the Performing Arts*, Mumbai, and made it truly memorable.
Our Grade 10 pupils brought grace, rhythm, and quiet confidence to the *Kathak Duet Competition*, earning a *Special Mention Award* along with certificates, medals, and a trophy.

Our younger dancers from Grades 4 to 7 filled the stage with energy and expression in the *Group Odissi Dance Competition, securing *First Position* and bringing home medals and a trophy.
What makes this even more meaningful is the dedication behind each performance—the hours of practice, the perseverance, and the guidance of mentors who stood by them throughout.
