અજ્ઞાનના અંધકારમાંથી જ્ઞાનનો પ્રકાશીત માર્ગ:
'ગુરુ' શબ્દમાં 'ગુ' એટલે અંધકાર અને 'રુ' એટલે પ્રકાશ. શિક્ષક એ વ્યક્તિ છે જે આપણને અજ્ઞાનતાના અંધકારમાંથી બહાર કાઢીને જ્ઞાન અને સદબુદ્ધિના પ્રકાશ તરફ દોરી જાય છે.
ચરિત્ર નિર્માણ અને સંસ્કાર:
શિક્ષક માત્ર પુસ્તકિયું જ્ઞાન નથી આપતા, પરંતુ આપણને સારા-નરસાનો ભેદ સમજાવીને શ્રેષ્ઠ માનવ બનાવે છે. તેઓ આપણામાં સત્ય, દયા, પ્રેમ, અને શિસ્ત જેવા મૂલ્યોનું સિંચન કરે છે.
જીવનની સાચી દિશા:
કુમ્હાર જેવી રીતે માટીના વાસણને યોગ્ય આકાર આપે છે, તેવી જ રીતે શિક્ષક બાળકના મન અને ભવિષ્યને ઘડે છે. જ્યારે પણ જીવનમાં કોઈ ગુંચવણ કે મૂંઝવણ આવે, ત્યારે શિક્ષક એક માર્ગદર્શક (Mentor) બનીને સાચો રસ્તો બતાવે છે.
