Over the past year, Batch 25 has lived through a lot of firsts. For some, it was their first time away from home. For many, their first time living in the mountains. For all of them, it was a year of living, learning, and creating alongside people they had never met before.
They’ve travelled across the Nilgiris, met people and listened to their stories, made documentaries, photographed moonlit landscapes, and stared at the Milky Way. They’ve searched for props and portrait subjects, built sets for photographs that didn’t work out, and reshot the same image 15 times. Along the way, light became a good, and occasionally erratic, friend.
Beyond all of that, they’ve had a breadth of experiences that we believe will shape not just the photographs they make, but also the way they approach the people and stories in front of their camera.
Here’s wishing students of Batch 25 all the best as they embark on their photography journey.
