Tribute to Mr. Altaf Hussain Sheikh (Senior Teacher at BHS Ompora) on His Superannuation.
Today marks a momentous occasion, a time to honor a man whose service, wisdom, and character have left a lasting imprint on every sphere he touched. Mr. Altaf Hussain Sheikh, a senior teacher and a deeply respected figure, now steps into retirement, carrying with him a legacy of dedication, dignity, and distinction.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Sheikh sahab has served with distinction in multiple capacities. As a senior teacher, he nurtured not just academic excellence, but also moral character and critical thinking among students. His classroom was a space where curiosity was encouraged, voices were respected, and knowledge was truly valued.
His contributions to the department were profound, marked by unwavering commitment, institutional discipline, and mentorship that helped shape the careers of countless students and fellow educators. His presence has been a pillar of stability and inspiration.
Notably, Mr. Sheikh sahab also served for several years as the District Cultural Coordinator for Budgam, where he made extraordinary contributions in promoting Kashmiri culture and instilling cultural awareness among the youth. Through hundreds of cultural events at the district and state level, he brought to light the rich heritage of the region, nurturing talent and creating a deep cultural consciousness. Thanks to his leadership, District Budgam rose to prominence across the state as a hub of cultural excellence.
In addition to his educational and cultural roles, Mr. Sheikh sahab has also been rendering crucial services as a Booth Level Officer (BLO) for the Election Commission of India. In this role, he has worked tirelessly and meticulously to maintain the electoral roll of his polling station, ensuring it remains accurate, updated, and error-free. His commitment to this civic duty reflects his broader dedication to democratic values and public responsibility.
Furthermore, Mr. Sheikh sahab has always been a voice for the voiceless, raising the concerns and struggles of BLOs before the District Administration, advocating for their rights, recognition, and welfare. A man of principles, he has led from the front, addressing the issues of the deprived and marginalized with courage, compassion, and a sense of justice.
Your work within the Forum also stands out, enriching discussions with thoughtful insights, encouraging collaboration, and pushing for collective growth with dignity and resolve.
وہ چراغ علم کا روشن رہا ہر اک راہ میں،
رہنما بن کے چلا، بانٹتا رہا چاہ میں۔

شیخ صاحب رہے ہر دل عزیز، باوقار۔
ریٹائر ہوا ہے جسم، پر علم زندہ ہے،
ان کی محنت کا ہر اک پل، آئندہ کا رستہ ہے۔
ثقافت کے سفیر بن کے جو کیا انہوں نے کام،
ضلع بڈگام کا نام کیا، جگ میں سر فخر کے ساتھ عام۔
جمہوریت کے رکھوالے بن کے کیا فرض ادا،
بے خطا فہرستوں میں ان کا رہا ہر نام جدا۔
حق کے لیے آواز اٹھائی، سب کی جنگ لڑی،
محروموں کے لیے وہ بنے، امید کی کڑی۔
