IS YOUR COACHING REALLY PREPARING YOU?

You attend classes. The teacher explains concepts, gives shortcuts and completes the syllabus. But competitive exams finally test only one thing: Can YOU solve the question correctly and within time?

WHY?
Students don't start at the same level. One needs fundamentals, another needs speed, while another keeps repeating the same mistakes. An appropriate teacher–student ratio matters because the teacher needs an opportunity to observe whether students have actually understood.
A SHORTCUT SHOWN IS NOT A SKILL ACQUIRED
Watching a teacher solve quickly may feel easy. But the real learning begins when you attempt the question yourself.
Good coaching should create involvement:
Learn → Attempt → Practise → Check → Correct → Practise Again

THE GAP
Should a beginner and an advanced student always receive the same level of questions?
Practice should progress:
Foundation → Standard → Exam Level → Advanced Level
The objective should not simply be to finish chapters, but to move each student towards the level required by the target examination.

FROM TEACHING TO COACHING
Explain → Student Solves → Practise → Observe → Correct → Test → Analyse → Improve
Mocks also need diagnosis. Did you lose marks because of concept, interpretation, accuracy, speed or question selection?
No institute can guarantee selection—the student's effort remains essential. But coaching should create practice, identify weaknesses, correct mistakes and monitor progress.
So don't ask only:
“Who will teach me?”
Also ask:
“Who will make me practise, notice where I am going wrong and help me progress towards my target?”

IS YOUR ACCOUNTING TRAINING JOB-READY?

Completing Tally, GST, TDS, Payroll and Excel gives you important knowledge. But an accounts interview may test something more:
Can you actually use them together to handle accounting work?

WHY?
An employer doesn't give you chapters. You may receive an invoice, bank statement, expense document or transaction and need to take it through:
Document → Bookkeeping → Tally/Software → GST/TDS → Payment → Reconciliation → Compliance → Reporting

THE GAP
Watching a trainer demonstrate accounting software is useful—but watching is not practising.
Each student should work individually on an allotted computer, process transactions, make and correct mistakes, reconcile accounts and generate reports.

WHAT SHOULD TRAINING CHANGE?
Projects should simulate the accounts of a service organisation, trading business or office.
Students should practise realistic purchases, sales, receipts, payments, expenses, banking, GST, TDS, payroll and applicable compliances—and finally produce accounting and Excel/MIS reports.
Training should progress through:
Concept → Demonstration → Individual Practice → Business Simulation → Compliance → Reconciliation → Reporting → Project → Mock Interview

PERSPECTIVE
A fresher is not expected to know everything. Experience comes with the job.
But before attending an interview, ask yourself:
“Have I only learned Tally, GST, TDS and Excel—or have I actually used them together to complete accounting work?”

I STUDY REGULARLY. WHY IS MY MOCK SCORE NOT IMPROVING?

You attend classes, study regularly and attempt mocks. Still, the score hardly moves.

WHY?
Every student doesn't start from the same level. An Arts student, for example, may first need stronger fundamentals in Quant or General Science, while another student may struggle with English or Reasoning.

WHY?
Your target matters. OSSSC, SSC/OSSC, Banking Clerical and Officer-level exams do not demand the same depth, speed or problem-solving ability. Your preparation must match your subject strength, available preparation time and target exam.

WHY?
Content mismatch is common. Questions that are too easy create false confidence; jumping directly to difficult questions creates frustration. Students need graded exposure to the topics and difficulty level of their targeted exam.

THE GAP?
A large general class can teach a common syllabus—but individual students may need different levels of practice, attention and correction.

THE CHANGE?
Move beyond syllabus completion. Build fundamentals → practise sufficiently → progress through graded levels → take mocks → analyse mistakes.

THE SOLUTION?
Combine relevant content, sufficient practice, mock analysis, mentoring and monitoring.
Don't measure preparation by how many chapters you completed.
Measure what level of questions you can now solve correctly.

Learning Tally, GST, TDS or Payroll gives you valuable knowledge and awareness. But unless that knowledge is repeatedly applied through actual bookkeeping and accounting software, much of it gradually fades.
WHY?
An accounts job doesn't give you chapter-wise questions. It gives you invoices, transactions, bank statements, statutory requirements and reporting work.

WHY?
Accounting is a composite job. A single transaction may involve bookkeeping → Tally → GST/TDS → payment → reconciliation → compliance → Excel reporting. Knowing these separately is different from connecting them in actual work.

WHY?
Your first job may be versatile—handling several accounting activities—or specialised in billing, payables, payroll, reconciliation or compliance. You may not know which opportunity will come first.

THE GAP?
Theoretical awareness without enough repeated practical application.

THE CHANGE?
Move from learning topics to handling transactions and accounting processes on systems.

THE SOLUTION?
Build broad practical exposure to bookkeeping, Tally, GST, TDS, payroll, statutory work, banking, reconciliation and Advanced Excel—along with communication, reporting and interview skills.
Technical knowledge helps you perform.
Soft skills and reporting help you sustain and grow.
Don't prepare merely for a Tally certificate. Prepare for an Accounts Job.
