The Nation Begins at Home: An Ode to Every Indian Mother"
This Mother’s Day, as the world celebrates the unconditional love and sacrifice of mothers, India must also pause—and rise—to acknowledge the silent revolutionaries who shape not just families, but the destiny of our nation: our mothers.
A mother is not just a nurturer—she is the first teacher, the moral compass, and the quiet sentinel of every child’s values. Behind every soldier guarding our borders, every doctor saving lives, every leader steering the nation—is a mother who whispered stories of courage, discipline, and dignity into young ears before the world could reach them.
"हर माँ, भारत माता की शक्ति।
हर घर, देश की ढाल।"
“Every mother is the strength of Mother India.
Every home is the shield of the nation.”
Today, terrorism knocks on our borders and hatred threatens to divide us. But the most powerful response to these dark forces doesn’t begin on battlefields—it begins in our homes. The weapon is not violence—it is values. And the wielder is not a politician—it is every Indian mother.
It is time we recognize the pivotal role mothers play in nation-building. The values they instill become the conscience of the country. When a mother teaches her child to be honest, she’s building a transparent India. When she teaches them compassion, she’s building a peaceful India. When she teaches courage, she’s preparing a defender of the nation—not just with weapons, but with wisdom.
This is not a call to arms. It is a call to awaken. To every mother in every village, town, and city—your lap is where India’s future takes shape. And to every father—your support is the wind beneath that power.
Let this Mother's Day mark the beginning of a new movement:
A movement where parenting becomes patriotism.
A movement where families raise not just successful children, but responsible citizens.
A movement where every mother becomes “Nirmaata Nayika”—the creator of a stronger Bharat.
Let this be our pledge: From every home, let love rise. From every street, let unity rise. From every school, let truth rise. And from every mother, let India rise.

Operation Sindoor: A Tale of Courage and Leadership by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh
In a historic display of valor and leadership, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi of the Indian Army and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force emerged as the faces of India's decisive military response, Operation Sindoor, following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025. Their roles not only underscored the strategic prowess of India's armed forces but also highlighted the evolving role of women in military leadership.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi: Breaking Barriers
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, hailing from Vadodara, Gujarat, has been a trailblazer in the Indian Army. In 2016, she made history by becoming the first woman officer to lead an Indian Army contingent at a multinational military exercise, 'Exercise Force 18', held in Pune . Her extensive experience includes serving as a military observer in the UN Peacekeeping Operation in Congo in 2006 and involvement in peacekeeping operations since 2010 .
During the Operation Sindoor briefing, Colonel Qureshi addressed the nation in Hindi, detailing the precision strikes that destroyed nine terrorist facilities . Her composed and clear presentation was a testament to her leadership and communication skills.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh: Soaring High
Commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 18, 2004, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh has been an integral part of the IAF's helicopter stream, having flown aircraft like the Chetak and Cheetah . Her dedication to service is evident from her participation in various missions, including the all-women mountaineering expedition to Mt. Manirang in 2021 .
In the Operation Sindoor briefing, Wing Commander Singh followed Colonel Qureshi's address by presenting the same information in English, ensuring the message reached a broader audience . Her articulate delivery showcased the professionalism and preparedness of the Indian Air Force.
Operation Sindoor: A Symbolic Response
Operation Sindoor was India's strategic response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. The operation targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, delivering a strong message against terrorism . The name 'Sindoor' holds symbolic significance, representing the red vermilion worn by married Hindu women, and was chosen to honor the widows of the Pahalgam attack victims.
Inspiring a Nation
The leadership displayed by Colonel Qureshi and Wing Commander Singh during Operation Sindoor has been a source of inspiration for many, especially women aspiring to serve in the armed forces. Their journey underscores the importance of determination, resilience, and breaking societal barriers.

A Message from Maa – The Naari of India
Today, my heart beats with pride — not just as a mother, but as a naari, the nurturer and the resilient spirit of this nation.
The pain of Pahalgam’s innocent lives — women and children — had long lingered as an ache in our collective soul. But justice, though delayed, did not falter. “Operation Sindoor” was not just a mission; it was a reclaiming of dignity, a tribute to the sacred red mark we wear with pride.
On this Mother’s Day, as the soil remembers and the nation rises, I offer a voice for every silenced soul. Today, I feel seen. Heard. Avenged. With the strength of the honorable Prime Minister and the resolve of a united India, justice has triumphed — not with vengeance, but with honor.
This is more than a tribute — it is a resurrection of faith. A reminder that Bharat ki Maa watches over her children, and her voice shall never again be lost in echoes.
Two-Line Poetic Tribute:
"Sindoor ke rang mein likhi ek kahaani hai, Maa ki aankhon mein ab sirf roshni hai."
(A tale is written in the red of sindoor, in a mother’s eyes now glows only light and honor.)
“When the sindoor of a woman cried, India raised its voice —
With the spark of justice, the flame of truth rejoiced.”
