In leading the READ Alliance program in partnership with USAID, Center for Knowledge Societies (CKS) seeks to develop a powerful Multi-Stakeholder Platform and Alliance, that has a three-fold objective:
- Build a high-level Alliance: that brings together diverse public, private and social sector members to coordinate & share resources, expertise & perspectives, routinely interact and critically view the early grade reading landscape and explore what role they can and should play, individually and collectively, to tackle some of the most fundamental failures in early reading.
- Seed and Scale High Impact Reading Innovations: by identifying and taking existing high impact early reading innovation programs to larger scale across geographies and seeding several new reading innovations to make a radical impact on the numbers of young Indian children who may thereby be enabled to read and learn on account of the new initiatives, innovations and programs we build together.
- Share Learnings & Knowledge: by designing a web of knowledge exchange partnerships, including new platforms and opportunities, leading to multi-dimensional converging circles of practitioners in civil society, governments, content providers, educationists and technology platforms. By building an ecology of solutions designed to address different components of the grand challenge and varied contexts, we strive to reach out to a large number of children who face a varied set of challenges in reading. We aim to achieve this goal by building a network of partners, all contributing to the cause of early reading.
