The day also marked the certification ceremony for the Delhi cohort of the ITIHAAS Youth Heritage Leadership Programme, which was presided over by the DG, ASI, Director (Archaeology), and the Superintending Archaeologist, Delhi Circle. Outside, in the fort's lawns, 200 students observed World Heritage Day with an art competition.
How did you mark the occasion?

A day of learning, connection, and celebration 💧✨

On the 28th of January, the Certification Ceremony was held at the India International Centre, bringing together 500+ students and teachers from participating schools. The ceremony became a vibrant space for young changemakers to meet, exchange ideas, and celebrate their journey with water and heritage.

We were honoured to be addressed by Vicky Roy, acclaimed photographer; Shri Shiv Mohan Diksh*t from the National Water Mission; Ms. Shalini Nambiar, Director Principal, Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School; and Ms. Jyotsna Gover, Vice Principal, Salwan Public School—whose insights inspired students to think deeper about water, responsibility, and the future.

Here’s to curiosity, collaboration, and the next generation of water stewards 🌊🌱

: As we near the culmination for this year's Jal ITIHAAS, here are some glimpses of the stories, ideas, and workshops that students have engaged with to understand the ways in which water shapes our lives.

The Jal ITIHAAS programme encourages students to be water warriors and take centre stage in conservation and sensitisation campaigns in their neighbourhoods and households. Schools that make a significant, measurable impact are certified as Blue Schools.

Watch this space for scenes from the culmination event, scheduled for the 28th of January, 2026.
