Biogeochemical cycle:

*Biogeochemical cycles are the pathways by which, a chemical substance move through biotic and abiotic compartments of Earth.

* The most important biogeochemical cycles are carbon, nitrogen, sulphur, phosphorus cycles.

* These cycles always have a state of equilibrium. The state of equilibrium occurs when there is a balance in cycling of a chemical substance in compartments of Earth.

* The purpose of these cycles is to move nutrients out of the environment and into the organisms and back again to the environment.
