Went back to my school after 24 years—this time taking my son along to show him where it all started.

Couldn’t go inside (clearly security has upgraded since our time 😄), but honestly, just standing at the gate was enough. The nostalgia hit hard… all those memories came rushing back like they were just waiting there.

Best part—caught up with some classmates. And funny thing, it didn’t feel like 24 years at all. Conversations just picked up exactly where we left off… no warm-up needed.

Assistant Commandant Nishi Sharma embodies the true spirit of service and sacrifice.

Raised in the values of the uniform, an alumna of Army Public School and Miranda House, and an instructor at the prestigious Indian Naval Academy.

She stands tall as a second-generation officer carrying forward a proud family tradition, with both her father and brother serving in the Indian Army.

Marching on Kartavya Path for the second time this time as the Contingent Commander of the Indian Coast Guard her journey is a powerful reminder that honour, duty, and dedication run deep in some families.
