CLEAN YAMUNA CAMPAIGN

DAV Rohini feel privileged to be the part of ‘Clean Yamuna Campaign’ organized at Sonia Vihar Ghat, Delhi on 1st October 2019, to pay tribute to legendary pioneer of clean India, ‘Father of Our Nation’, Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary. Chief Guest for the occasion Shri Manoj Tiwari (Member of Parliament) and Guest of Honor, Commissioner MCD ,joined hands with School students and teachers in this endeavour to clean the ghats of River Yamuna. To continue with this spirit of cleanliness and spread awareness ‘Swachhta Pledge’ was also taken.

PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAM

TOPIC:- Re-modelled Assessment Pattern and SOP(Standard Operating Procedure) introduced by CBSE in the Session 2019-20 for class X
A parent Orientation session was held on Saturday, 03.08.19 on Re-modelled assessment pattern and standard operating procedure (SOP) introduced by CBSE for the session 2019-20.
The session was conducted by Ms. Priya Tandon and Ms. Rakhi Pahwa.
The Parents were made aware of the new pattern of examination and assessment, new inclusions by CBSE like- two levels of Mathematics examination, multiple assessment and introduction of the student portfolio. CBSE norms for mandatory attendance and procedure for class Xth LOC registration was also explained.
The supervisory head Ms. Sonika Wason welcomed the parents and emphasized on the importance of punctuality and discipline among the students. She stressed upon that the parent-teacher relationship is a major factor in the holistic development of the child.
At the end of the session the teachers attended to the queries of the parents and assured them that they would get full co-operation from the school.

WORKSHOP on SPEAKER OF THE YEAR

This is the motto of ‘Maverik Ventures' an organization that is determined to solve the long standing social Issue of Inequality, Discrimination, Environmental Degradation and Unethical treatment of Animals.MV Speaker of the Year Youth Forum’s, mission is to bring students together to raise voice against these issues.
The organization conducted a workshop with a theme of “GREAT INDIAN FAUNA”, to motivate students to be part of the mission. The objective of the workshop was to showcase the importance of speaking as a tool to influence the society and motivate students to learn, improvise and express about topics that have an impact on the society.

‘SAY NO TO TOBACCO’
POSTER MAKING

To***co is the foremost cause of preventable death and disease in the world. Like most developed countries, to***co usage has become a health concern due to its widespread use and ever-increasing amount of toxins. A popular effort to curb the widespread use of the drug has come from government’s regulations and awareness programs. The Central Board of Secondary Education and Comprehensive School Health Programmed have joined hands to fight the menace of to***co. It has been their constant endeavour to inform the public on the dangers of using to***co.
Directorate of Health Services, Government of NCT of Delhi, has directed every school to observe the last day of every month as a ‘DRY DAY’ for to***co awareness. A Poster making competition was organized in our school on 30th July, 2019. The event was intended to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of to***co use and second-hand smoke exposure, and also to discourage the use of to***co in any form. Our school has is a “no smoking zone” and prohibits the use of to***co products everywhere, by everyone, at all times.

EXPO -27th July, 2019
The school organised an exhibition showcasing the talent and creativity of the students. It was a visual treat to the eye. Students participated enthusiastically.
